Default Lexus to introduce a bespoke design concept at Milan Design Week

Lexus has announced plans to introduce a bespoke design concept at Milan Design Week.

The company is keeping details under wraps but said the concept was created by their European design studio, ED², and will provide a "perfect illustration of Lexus’ passion for upcoming design trends." Lexus went on to say the concept will be will be positioned at the heart of an exclusive installation that uses special mirrors to "create a flow of motion stimulating the imagination."

That's not much to go on but the concept will be part of the “LEXUS – A JOURNEY OF THE SENSES” exhibit which promises to "awake the five senses in many different ways."

I hope it isn't just fluff. Would love to finally see an SC replacement. My S5 is the closest thing I can find to a current SC400.

From the way it reads it's just a pavilion design concept, not a concept car.

So it's just an aesthetic experiment designed to remotely illustrate the future of car design and make Lexus look hip.

I think it's almost impossible to replicate the success of the SC400

Toyota today is not the same Toyota as 1990

One way of looking at it is that the RC is the successor to the 1SC. But the original SC really filled two roles--the midsize sporty coupe in the SC300 and RC (a 2-door GS if you will); but particularly with the SC400, what I'd call a "2-door LS". Thinking along the lines of a 6-series or S-class coupe (formerly CL-class). On that front, I agree with yowps3. You're unlikely to see a Lexus in that segment within the next decade.

Yes, we do, and that's what I am referring to. That would be a pretty direct replacement for the SC. Sorry, but the RC is not that car.

I think we can all agreed that the SC300/SC400 and SC430 were very different type of cars.

The 1st gen took on cars like the CL/S-Class coupe like the poster above stated. The upcoming LC looks like a good successor.

On the other hand the SC430 was more of a SL fighter. Again, as poster above stated maybe Lexus will get its own version of the joint BMW/Toyota car aka FT-1.

Why does it seem incredibly hard for Toyota/Lexus to understand the concept of
UNDERSTATED ELEGANC'E ??

Toyota themselves used to do it!!

i agree yowps3. they don't need giant black grills and overly busy 'mad max' designs.
