I don't think the Vios is suitable for the Western world. It is for ASEAN markets. Or maybe it is just cheaper to get them from a Mexican plant than move them all around the world :P
Yep, it is due to Mexican production. And in Canada it will be Toyota of course.
that grille is really big in front pics... but it does make it look less like a Mazda 2. And I didnt see before how close 2 and 3 look like, it is kind of too much.
Couldn't they have given the two some distinction?! Looks simply like a nose job. If I want a Mazda2 I'll get a Mazda2 not a Scion2
this was likely the cheapest way and margins are thin here, plus it is only for NA so volume is very low.... probably because Mazda does not have that many dealers anyway, between them and Scion, you get full scale coverage.
not really sure what Scion is supposed to stand for anymore, since this thing certainly wont be customizable as others.... due to pricing and the fact that it is sedan, it will also likely be best selling Scion too.
Scion needs to do something to generate sales. Last I read their "box" (XB?) was being purchased by senior citizens, no the hipsters they were looking for.
