Default Experience with Optima batteries? (only within the last couple of years please)

I know they are made in Mexico now and that Amazon will not honor the warranty, so I'd like to hear if anyone has had any good or bad experience with them.

I've read quality has gone south and therefore, no real reason to get one anymore (especially since the 3 year replacement warranty is the same as most other decent batteries).

I think I'm leaning towards a DieHard Platinum (4 year replacement), but waiting for a sale!

I had always used the Blue Top in my boat with good results, but when needing a battery last year, after researching Optima on boat forums it appeared that Optima quality was no longer consistent, with very few positive reviews. We have an East Penn distribution center nearby, so I bought a Deka for the boat.
