Lexus Extra Care Warranty Baited and Switched?
I just found out that my Lexus Extra Care warranty that I thought I was buying from Sterling McCall Lexus in Houston wasn't really a Lexus warranty. Turns out they sold me some service contract from a company named Gulf States Financial Services.
Personally I find this to be a very shady practice and am about to contact several news stations in Houston. Has anyone else on this board encountered this practice before?

Toyotas in your area are largely controlled by Gulf States Toyota one of the largest independent distributors of Toyotas in the country, it wouldn't surprise me if Lexus dealers also utilized the services and options offered through GST. Judging from the name, it is likely still a full "Lexus" warranty and not anything to get up in arms about.

The key is to read what is covered and what is not. Make sure it reads like a true warranty, with only wear and tear and minor items excluded.
