Gordon Ramsay is a hopeless driver but more importantly isn't even vaguely funny . He is also not rating much anymore as Most people are over his churlish attitude . Oh and he's going broke too .
The other 2 are resigning now too so they all appear an another station soon enough ...

I have said this before, and saying it again: If you cannot be a lions ringmaster, Don't try to be and then blame the lion for ripping you apart.

now bbc is a very political and politically correct outfit, not to mention government run, but they (hypocritically) put up with clarkson's antics because the ratings were so huge and the money inflow was huge. top gear has probably made more people know about the 'beeb' since monty python.
indeed... you cant work on public tv and hit a producer... i am sure people loved the show and all, but some lines cant be crossed.

Looks like Oison Tymon has decided not to press charges, although the police seem to be proceeding anyway.

Might be afraid of retribution if he does. Clarkson has a lot of friends.

In fact, I can't help but wonder how many, if any, BBC facilities might end up being vandalized over this matter.

I'm sure he just wants to get on with his life.

That, too. No sense starting (or continuing) a war if one can be avoided.

highly doubt it. clarkson was let go, tyman knows he'll be fine and doesn't need a legal circus as well.

really? i don't think so.

there's no war, just a short altercation where clarkson lost it.

I would hope not either. But you and I are sensible, mature adults that can usually control our temper........ not everyone thinks along those lines.

Agreed.....assuming Clarkson's friends don't start one up again.

Well retribution could come regardless of Clarkson's future actions. Never underestimate the number of crazy people out there.

A random comment thread from a year ago where some people talk about Jay Leno?

Don't get me wrong...I really like Jay and his passion for cars, but he's just not quite the right person for Top Gear. He doesn't have that irreverence that made JC so beloved.

As long as he can make the show work, why does he have to be another JC ?
In fact he definitely should not be. Leno is his own brand.

He is indeed. I just think that Top Gear shouldn't be restyled. It needs that same kind of wit that Clarkson had.

Do I want to see Jay Leno on TV talking about cars? Hell yeah. I think he's worthy of his own show in the US. I would watch it.

Anyways, now that a little time has passed and the initial shock is gone, I do think BBC made the proper decision. If JC had attacked somebody else down the road, BBC would be paying out big $$ for not firing him now. Still want to see Clarkson, Hammond, and Captain Slow on a new show on Netflix though.
