Still not good enough, Lexus. Your cars need to have 700 HP and weigh 2000 lbs to beat the Germans.

True, but, fortunately, the Fiat unreliability of today is not quite the same as the notorious F.I.A.T. (Fix it Again, Tony) problems of the old Fiats before they left the American market in the 1980s. A Fiat purchase today ensures at least reasonable reliability for daily driving, if clearly not as good as the best vehicles in the survey. Today's Fiat, for example, will not develop into a piece of Swiss Cheese with rust-holes the first time it snows and they treat the winter roads.

I'm curious for next years rankings. MY2013 was the introduction of the Lexus Enform App Suite which has been hit or miss as well as a change in Lexus design and engineering going forward. Could be better, worse or a wash. Stay tuned

So they are still number one the quality got worse if now there are 89/100 and last year it was 68/100. Anyone notice this? Looks like a slip to me even they still maintained the #1 position.

With more and more content there is a chance for more to go wrong. With the exception of a few automakers, the vast majority got worse.

new nav system is definitely the reason for lower scores, but at the same time, it is a lot better system than before.

Majorly improved. Latest Gen 8 can now train your voice via 10 phrases to help it better understand what you are saying. Of course it is not without flaw. The system still lags some and resolution and processing could be better.

If that's a slip, then what do we call this?

2014...

2015...

Maybe it's the carbon build-up in IS's bringing down the brand for the 2012/13 years? I know CR lowered their ranking for the IS two years ago when all the complaints started surfacing.

I read an article yesterday where respondents gave poor marks for some models because they had difficulty with the voice recognition systems. What does that have to do with dependability? It just tells me that the entire JD Power methodology is flawed, and ^^^^ this is just more evidence of that.

They also put the Lincoln MKS as a midsize and the Ford Taurus as a large car, and the Lincoln MKZ as a compact. It's ridiculous.

Why does a system that is harder than average to use count toward "dependability"? Isn't that just whether you like your car, ie, "satisfaction" index???

But so was the Camry, which at the time, was almost a twin. These guys are supposed to be "experts".
