Default Petition: Sewell Parts is closing down.

Sewell Parts is closing down, speaking to a representative, it is a change of ownership and they are also trying to change this to get Sewell Parts back up and running.

Spread the word. Please.

Yes and no...

Yes, you can still order parts from Sewell in the future, at the dealership. For normal/average prices.

We need more signatures, we need more shares, why isn't every Lexus owner signing it, only takes a few minutes... Keep the market prices down. Can't let other vendors jack their prices up because of Sewell shutting doors.

I signed it. In addition, the below is my email correspondence with Sewell:

On Feb 20, 2015, at 12:21 PM, Lexus Parts <lexusparts@SEWELL.com> wrote:

Mr. Berry,

Thank you for your past business. We regret to inform you that as the website goes away, so do the forum discounts and online discounts. Parts purchased from our retail portal will be “in store” retail pricing. Furthermore, we will be shipping to our immediate DFW regional customers with flat-rate shipping. We do not like relaying any of this to you.

Best regards,

Subject: Re: An Important Announcement from Sewellparts.com

Quick question - I have enjoyed the discounts from ordering online through Sewell at SewellParts.com, especially considering that I don’t have a Lexus dealer within a 2 hour drive. May I expect that Sewell will continue to provide favorable online discounts as well as a discount for being a Club Lexus member? Service at Sewell has been impeccable, but the price I have received has sealed the deal on my OEM parts.

Thanks,

Change of ownership or no, why do this unless it's not making money? Local DFW customers may not buy on line because they'd have to pay shipping (although, I can say that even with shipping, sometimes the prices are better than going in to my local dealer). But having local a local customer base, PLUS a national mail order customer base--why eliminate the mail order unless it's losing money? Unless the new buyer just doesn't have a clue how to run a mail order business?

There was another on line Lexus parts store that I had ordered wiper blade inserts from a few times--but I don't remember what it was. I deleted the bookmark when I sold my Lexus.

EDIT: here's the link: http://mylparts.com

It would be nice to have the full story, but given the way Toyota has been clamping down on dealers selling discounted warranties across state lines, I am inclined to believe that Toyota is behind this. It wouldn't surprise me if dealers have complained and Toyota is putting an end to it.

Even if they can't continue with the discounted pricing, at least keep the same website up with retail pricing. That website is very informative for us DIYer!!

This will be a huge lost

That's too bad! I've purchased from them a few times and always had good experiences.

just seems stupid to stop the flow of sales when people on this enormous forum were buying parts like crazy. Must be from an outside influence. Just doesnt seem like a smart move

100% outside influence that they can't say no to.
