Perhaps you should drove the MKC again. The door shut with a nice thud which was impressive.
And the 4 cylinder turbo has outstanding performance that a V6 of similar power would not be able to achieve. The current engine is a absolutely the correct decision by Lincoln.

In this class, though, refinement is as important as power. I did not sample the MKC's optional 2.3 turbo, but the 2.0 turbo I did sample, though powerful and responsive, was not quite the equal of a typical V6 in refinement. I do agree, though, that, like it or not, turbo-4s seem to be here to stay, at least on lower-line upmarket vehicles.......we'll have to get used to them.
Also, test-drive one and then see what you think of it. If you still have the same opinion...fine.

Turbos within the Tier 1 imports is the thing now, Lexus is following and I am glad Lincoln was smart enough to realize this.
A V6 would never work, these vehicles are already 4000lbs and more weight and a larger engine will just use more gas, and more weight, and increase the cost.

why? lincoln sales are up ytd 7.9% over last year. mkc sales are quite good - over 2400 sold last month.
maybe it's funny because you feel they're not exactly threatening the 'established' luxury players, but that's hard to say. gas prices down, stock market's been hot in the past year, population increasing, so pretty much all luxury vehicle sales are up.

Comparisons like that simply don't apply in the MKC's case. Bitkahuna (correctly) provides the facts:
2400 a month is almost 29,000 a year. That's not bad for a vehicle that already has many different European and Asian competitors, and comes from an obscure automaker that, until a year or so ago, was all but forgotten.

A good evaluation. I came to more or less the same conclusion....although I think the console and lower-dash, with its nice big rotary-***** for some functions, is actually a step up from the silly finger-slide sensor controls on the MKZ and some other Lincoln models. The biggest problem with the MKC, IMO, is the strict use of two turbo-4s with no V6 option. V6s, though, seem to be on the way out in favor of turbo-4s.....we also see that on the Lexus NX. The doors also shut with somewhat of a tinny feel for this class....they could feel a little more solid.
