Unhappy which to get: 2014 ES350 loaded or 2011 LS460 pristine 35k mi

I have the funds to purchase a new 2014 Lexus ES 350 loaded out with all the current options, but the dealership also has a certified 2011 Lexus LS 460 in pristine condition with 35k miles with navigation, BU camera, etc at the same price as the new ES. I cannot decide which way to go. Any opinions?

Agreed, a tough decision. I'd think of the ES as more of a blending into the road vehicle. The LS makes a bit more of a "I have money" statement. Beyond that, I'm grasping to find differences. Both are Lexus, both are reliable, both are conservative (the LS even more so), and both hold value well. One just puts you in a higher bracket, as far as what other drivers will view you as. If you don't care for how others see you, there's little difference beyond your own personal preference to styling.

FWD V6 vs RWD V8 makes it a pretty easy choice for me!

35k is nothing. I'd pick the LS.

cheap materials in the ES.

LS no brainer ... I won't even think of trading my 2008 LS for a brand new ES350

That's tough. ES will have all the new stuff like better navigation, blind spot monitor, better fuel economy and you can use Regular gas 87 octane. Downside is the materials are a let down and torque steer with fwd. Drive both and you'll figure which you like better.

LS is in another league. And that brand new ES will be a "used" car 3 months into the ownership, and that's when you'll be wishing you picked the LS.
