Worst car ad of 2014?
Here's my vote.....Shaq O'Neal trying to convince us he can actually stretch out in a Buick Lacrosse.
The backrest of his seat would be pretty much in the rear passenger's lap.

The Buick one is a good worst car candidate.
Matthew McConaughey: "I've been driving a Lincoln since long before anybody paid me to drive one. I didn't do it to be cool; to make a statement. I just liked it" wins it for me.

The LaCrosse is actually a very nice car...although the new Chevy Impala, which is done on the same platform, trumps it in some areas. The new Impala is light-years ahead of the old rental-grade one.
I've driven and reviewed both cars, though, and I don't think Shaq could easily fit in either one, though both are considered "full-size" by today's standards. That's probably why so many NBA guys drive Escalades and Navigators.
Yep...that one's probably in second-place.
But, nevertheless, he has a point. The MKC is the first new Lincoln product I have driven in years that didn't make me want to just walk right out of the dealership.

Lincoln's sales are up considerably, and they are attributing it to the Matthew McConaughey ads. Sometimes "crazy" builds brand awareness.

My vote goes to the Audi A8. This is the one where the older driver is saying he is a look into the future of the passenger. What I dislike is you cannot understand 50% of what they are saying. They cut off each other's comments, the music is playing too loud to hear anything, and it all appears fake and unrealistic.

The line of "I've been driving a Lincoln since long before anybody paid me to drive one" has been a home run.

Actually, the LaCrosse probably doesn't need much marketing. As it is, it is selling quite well to more or less the same senior-citizen crowd (and some younger ones as well) that bought the former 1Gen LaCrosse, Lucerne, LeSabre, and Park Avenue.
And I can see why. It retains much (not quite all) of the Lucerne's former ride comfort, but with much better handling. Same for the new 2014 Impala, which is done on the same platform.
Yes, the average male (or female) will have no problems in the LaCrosse. But they won't be sitting in it like he is....with the seatback raked and his legs bowed around the lower part of the steering wheel. He sits in it more or less like I myself (at 6' 2" and 275 lb.) did in the early versions of the Mazda Miata...though the 3Gen Miata was a little less sardine-like inside than its two predecessors.
(And don't even ASK how I managed to enter/exit and drive a Lotus Elise...you wouldn't believe it if I told you)

I didn't see the Buick ad as stupid. The fact he can even sit in it says hey the average american male at the height of 5'9 and females at 5'4 will have a ton of room.
