I don't think they can use the current 467 hp 5.0 as is for the LC500 and LS500, those are not F cars, and I think they will be NA .
I would prefer a LC500 with higher peak torque at lower rpm, even with less hp. Something like 430hp/430 lb.ft. at lower rpm would still be OK with me ...

yep... plus, LS should be lower weight than before, so goodies overall compared to LS460 right now.

I didn't say F tuned. Just 5.0L V8

Apologies if it was 'implied', it was not

This seems very likely since the top trim current GS is around north of $60,000 USD.

At least 2 years for next M5 /E63 is over exaggerating a bit.
Also remember, GS-F is not for sale yet either. It will be some months before it is released. So the time difference between GS-F and new M5 is not that long.
Then you should know that current M5/E63/RS7 are easily $95-100,000+ cars compared to the GS-F's supposed $80,000

Key question is : is the 100 hp deficit but in a relatively lightweight body with a proven driver's chassis (the GSF) worth $10-15,000?

Ask yourself where that $10-15,000 100hp increase will prove advantageous in real life?

In a traffic light race (illegal and life threatening)? On a drag strip (realistically how many people see the drag strip)? On a dynometer so you can orgasm over the hp numbers on a piece of paper(you need help and some self-esteem counselling)

Me? I'd rather keep that $10,000-15000 for myself and enjoy the nimble, progressive handling and response of my GS-F in day-to-day driving while watching my neighbor drive in straightlines to and from work in his overpriced German super-sedan wishfully dreaming of the long-off day when he can finally put that 600 horses to good use(probably never in the span of his ownership).

Well, I try to be as conservative as I can with my expectations of hp with Lexus

Everyone is talking as if they've driven the car already.

BMW has other options for customers the dont need 550hp+
550i msport for example.

M5 has matured from its early days as its customer base has matured as well.
Each generation has added hp - you have to understand its competing against E63, RS7, Porsche Panamera turbo, and now CTS-V.
The customer base for these cars are driven by HP, Luxury, Brand Name and mostly bragging rights.

Most ppl dont need more than 300hp.
Hell i cant even drive my 535i close to the limit in NYC.

Hopefully GSF is priced right and is not a limited production run.
I like the fact it has NA engine and most likely will prove to be reliable for many years which is something you dont get from the other competitors.

believe me you will feel better once you think the gsf is competing with the m3. it worked for me.

but i do agree, most people won't be able to push any of these cars to their limits anyway. lsd or big brakes, whatever, most of those stuff aren't really used closed to their limit at all either. but of course, at the same time i think it's silly that becomes an excuse or argument that "then we don't need that much"

at least i think it's a much better fight

and even yaguchi said it's a 4 door rcf, and rcf goes against m4, and m4 is a 2-door m3

If we follow their logic, LS-F (if we ever see one) we'll go against M5 and AMG
