given that a reasonably loaded rcf is in mid 70s, i think adding another 10k for the gsf (bigger, 2 more doors, more techs, etc...) makes sense.and i personally i think that's a pretty good price for this car, compared to what i can get on the 550i for the same price

You're dreaming man.... This isn't 2001 anymore. Even back 15 years ago, an M5 cost more than that. How do you expect this to cost $70k?

GS F not lining up with the 'competition' gives it its own niche. You can option up an M5 to $130K, GS F in this first iteration won't. Should prove to be a rewarding vehicle and should only get better as it makes inroads into the Lexus line.

You must work for Lexus Marketing dept if not they should hire you LOL
Please build me an M5 for 130k, its almost impossible.

What niche is there?
They are building a PERFORMANCE BRAND with power that competitors had 10 yrs ago!
I guess going back in time and underdelivering is a "niche" now.

This car will be at least 85-90k.
A base M5 that has almost everything standard is 100k and it comes with 560hp!

I just went to BMW's website and I was able to hit 135k. Then again, that's with the ceramic brakes that is probably overkill.

I really hope that Lexus will at least get the pricing right for the GS-F, because if this thing hits $90+ that's going to be the second time they dropped the ball, but this time the ball will hit the floor so hard it will actually go right through it.

Compare it to the base car. A base GS is about $50k...thats $22-24,000 more for the GS-F. A base GS F Sport RWD is about $54k...$20,000 more than a base GS F Sport then. I think thats going to be in the realm of reason. A fully loaded F Sport is about $63k...so fully loaded $80-83k, $20,000 premium for the GS-F.

Do you seriously think Lexus is going to charge more than a $20,000 premium over the GS350 for this?

Why not? Do the math... more expensive tires, brakes, wheels, body panels, completely different drivetrain and exhaust system, suspension, lights, interior.

It's basically a completely different car.

A Mercedes S400 MSRP is roughly $95k when a S65 AMG is around $225k. Why can't Lexus charge more than $20,000 for GS-F over a base GS350?

Why can't they? Because they arent stupid. Look at the RC...the RC-F is all of those things compared to the RC. How big a Premium from an RC350 F Sport? About $15,000

So where does that leave GS450h Fsport?
I just priced one out on Lexus website for $73k.

Yeah the numbers are totally disappointing. I'll look at the M5 and E63 if I'm ever in the market (though this won't be any time soon). Fortunately I have no loyalties to Lexus. I buy whatever car suits me at the time of purchase.

The RC350 excites me more than this car merely for its looks. The RC350 has tremendous road presence. I've seen a couple on the road already and I'm a bit envious.
