Not surprising, Ford is going to milk this current super car craze for all its worth and sell as many new GT's as they can.

BTW the stupid prices paid for the last gen GT reflect a huge bubble in the collector sports car market. There is no damn good reason people should be paying 100k more than the original 150k sticker for a low mile example of the last gen Ford GT when you consider Ford made 4,000 of those SOB's. That's a freaking huge production run for a super car.

seeing that they decided to extend production is probably why they havent announced an official price. Price should come down if they are making double.

Oddily enough the entire production of the Gen 5 viper is more rare than the mid 2000s Ford GT. Viper is a car to grab up before they get discontinued.

Fords boosted six in the GT sounds way better than BMW's boosted six in the M4 IMO

Sounds decent for a V6, better than the race car version since they were able to fiddle with the mufflers to make it sound better. Still think Ford screwed the pooch by not putting a V8 in this car though. Also think a 2016 Camaro with the sport exhaust option sounds better.

Also with a few mods, you could make the 2005-06 GT sound like you're turning left at Talledega

I tend to agree. This was a great opportunity to launch an EcoBoost V8 in the 4.0-4.9L range. Truthfully I was hoping for a 4.9L V8 in the same vein the 1968 and 1969 GT40's won with their 4.9L V8's. The 1966 and 1967 GT40's used a massive 7.0L V8 which lets face it, that definitely would be a pipe dream today

I understand why they went with the 3.5 though since it's part of their racing program, some large utes, and the Raptor.

There's been rumors of an 'EcoBeast' TT V8 floating around the past few years. Perhaps the next Shelby GT500 or a high performance Lincoln (couldn't keep a straight face on that one) would be a good candidate.
