FORD ISSUES TWO SAFETY RECALLS
Ford is issuing two safety recalls. No accidents or injuries are attributed to either of these conditions. Details are as follows:

Ford issues safety recall for certain 2010-2013 Ford Taurus, Lincoln MKS and Ford Police Interceptor sedans for interior door handle issue

Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 205,000 2010-2013 Ford Taurus, Lincoln MKS and Ford Police Interceptor sedans due to an issue with the spring that controls the interior door handles. If the spring is unseated, the door may become unlatched in a side-impact crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this condition.

Affected vehicles include certain 2010-2013 Ford Taurus vehicles built Dec. 1, 2009 to July 31, 2010 and Feb. 1, 2011 to Nov. 30, 2012 at Chicago Assembly Plant; certain 2010-2013 Lincoln MKS vehicles built June 2, 2011 to Oct. 31, 2011 at Chicago Assembly Plant; and certain 2010-2013 Ford Police Interceptor sedans built Dec. 1, 2009 to July 31, 2010 and Feb. 1, 2011 to Nov. 30, 2012 at Chicago Assembly Plant.

Ford is aware of 204,945 vehicles in North America, including 194,889 in the United States and federalized territories, 9,948 in Canada and 108 in Mexico.

Dealers will inspect all four interior door handle assemblies and repair or replace the handles as necessary. This will be done at no cost to customers.

Ford issues safety recall for certain 2014 Ford Transit Connect vehicles for safety belt fastener torque issue

Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 16,100 2014 Ford Transit Connect vehicles for a potential issue with safety belt fasteners that may not have been tightened properly. Safety belt fasteners that do not meet installation torque specifications may loosen over time, which may cause them not to function as intended, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this condition.

Affected vehicles include certain 2014 Ford Transit Connect vans built Nov. 6, 2013 to Sept. 20, 2014 at Valencia Assembly Plant. All 16,091 vehicles are located in the United States.

Dealers will replace and properly tighten the safety belt fasteners. This will be done at no cost to customers. Dealers will also replace and properly torque the cargo tie-downs in the cargo area.

Statement: Restraint-System Software Upgrade

February 2, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC is launching a global recall of an estimated 228,181 SUVs to upgrade software governing side-curtain and seat-mounted side air bags.

The action follows an investigation by FCA US engineers after a small number of inadvertent deployments involving drivers who executed extreme maneuvers. These maneuvers dramatically changed the vehicles' angle of operation, relative to the ground.

The air-bag systems, sensing potential rollovers, automatically activated. FCA US is unaware of any related injuries or accidents.

The software upgrade will recalibrate the threshold for deployment and the vehicles will remain compliant with all applicable safety regulations.

Affected are certain 2014 and 2015 Jeep Cherokees. Estimated volumes by market are as follows: 168,092 in the U.S.; 19,557 in Canada; 4,133 in Mexico and 36,399 outside the NAFTA region.

The Company will notify affected customers. Software will be available at that time.

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Jetta vehicles manufactured March 28, 2014, to November 24, 2014, 2014-2015 Passat vehicles manufactured April 7, 2014, to November 18, 2014, 2015 Golf and GTI vehicles manufactured July 1, 2014, to November 20, 2014, and 2014-2015 Beetle and Beetle Convertible vehicles manufactured March 31, 2014, to November 27, 2014. A sealing cap at the fuel rail may fail, allowing fuel to leak into the engine compartment.

CONSEQUENCE:
A fuel leak, in the presence of an ignition source, can result in a vehicle fire.

REMEDY:
Volkswagen will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel rails with new parts, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in early February 2015. Gibbs, the manufacturers of the awesome Quadski, are recalling 320 examples of the ATV-***-jetski because "the handlebar can fail while the vehicle is in operation, causing the operator to lose control of the steering and braking system of the vehicle, posing a risk of injury." Yep, that'd be a problem.

According The Detroit Free Press, the Consumer Product Safety Board is ordering Gibbs to recall both the $42,000 single-seater and the $47,000 two-passenger model are affected, with hull numbers ranging from US-GSAJ0607J213 though US-GSAJ1048C414 on the former and US-GSAJ5001J213 though US-GSAM5203H415 on the latter.

Gibbs uncovered the problem at its testing facility in Florida, The Freep reports, and confirmed that none of the affected Quadskis have been involved in any incidents.

TOYOTA RECALLS CERTAIN 2014 MODEL YEAR FJ CRUISER VEHICLES

TORRANCE, Calif., February 5, 2015 – Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., today announced it will conduct a safety recall of approximately 120 Model Year 2014 FJ Cruiser vehicles.

The steering system contains an intermediate shaft, which connects the steering wheel to the steering gear box. In the involved vehicles the intermediate shaft could have received an inadequate weld. Under some circumstances, the weld could separate, resulting in the loss of steering control and increasing the risk of a crash.

Toyota is not aware of any crashes, injuries, or fatalities caused by this condition.

Owners of the involved vehicles will receive a notification by first class mail. Toyota dealers will replace the intermediate shaft.

CONSEQUENCE:
If one or both of the flexible brake hoses fails, the vehicle may require a longer distance to stop, increasing the risk of a crash.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles manufactured August 16, 2012, to January 8, 2014, and 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport vehicles manufactured May 7, 2013, to January 8, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the brake vacuum hose may have been incorrectly routed allowing a hole to be worn ito it.

CONSEQUENCE:
If a hole is worn into the brake vacuum hose, a complete loss of braking assistance could occur, lengthening the distance required to stop the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.

REMEDY:
Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the brake vacuum hose and correctly route it, as necessary, free of charge. In the affected vehicles, the front side lamps (parking lamps) may turn off after approximately 5 minutes. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

CONSEQUENCE:
If the parking lamps turn off, the vehicle will have reduced conspicuity, increasing the risk of a crash.

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2008 Infiniti EX35 vehicles manufactured June 29, 2007, to April 25, 2008, 2009 Infiniti FX35 and FX45 vehicles manufactured October 31, 2007, to April 16, 2008, and 2009 Nissan GT-R vehicles manufactured March 14, 2007, to April 25, 2008. The steering column outer tube may not be round, resulting in extra stress being applied to the upper steering bearing. This stress may cause the bearing retainer to fracture, creating extra play in the steering wheel or a possible loss of steering.

CONSEQUENCE:
Extra play in the steering wheel or a loss of steering may increase the risk of a crash.

REMEDY:
Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the steering shaft on the Infiniti EX35, FX35, and FX45 vehicles, and will replace the steering column assembly on the Nissan GT-R vehicles, free of charge. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2006-2007 Chevrolet Malibu and Malibu Maxx vehicles manufactured April 1, 2006, to June 30, 2006, and 2006-2007 Pontiac G6 vehicles manufactured April 18, 2006, to June 30, 2006. In the affected vehicles, there may be a sudden loss of electric power steering (EPS) assist that could occur at any time while driving.

CONSEQUENCE:
If power steering assist is lost, greater driver effort would be required to steer the vehicle at low speeds, increasing the risk of a crash.

REMEDY:
GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the torque sensor assembly, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. TOYOTA RECALLS CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2015 YARIS AND TACOMA VEHICLES

TORRANCE, Calif., February 17, 2015 – Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., today announced it will conduct a safety recall of approximately 230 Model Year 2015 Yaris hatchbacks and approximately 20 Model Year 2015 Tacoma TRD Pro model pickup trucks.

In the involved Yaris vehicles, the rear axle bearing bolts may not have been tightened sufficiently during vehicle assembly. If a bolt is loose and falls off during vehicle operation, the bolt could damage rear brake components, resulting in reduced brake performance or potential wheel lock up, which could increase the risk of a crash.

The Tacoma TRD Pro model pickup trucks were distributed to dealers in Puerto Rico without the correct B-pillar tire placard indicating the tire size and recommended cold tire inflation pressure for the front and rear tires. An improperly inflated tire can increase the risk of a crash.

Toyota is not aware of any crashes, injuries, or fatalities caused by either condition.

Owners of the involved vehicles will receive a notification by first class mail. Toyota dealers will repair the vehicles at no cost to the owner.

CONSEQUENCE:
If the rubber seal falls into the engine compartment, it may contact parts of the exhaust system, increasing the risk of a fire.

REMEDY:

Statement: Park Engagement
February 26, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC is launching a recall of certain model-year 2015 cars to resolve manufacturing issues that may prevent the vehicles from shifting into park.

Inconsistent assembly procedures at a supplier's plant have been linked to five reports involving customers who could not shift their vehicles into park. Without park, a vehicle may be subject to inadvertent movement.

FCA US is unaware of any related injuries or accidents.

The campaign is limited to the Chrysler 200 equipped with a V-6 engine. There are an estimated 22,107 in the U.S.; 3,600 in Canada and 213 in Mexico.

Customers will be advised when they may schedule service. FCA US dealers will inspect and, if required, replace transmissions at no charge. In the interim, customers who own models with V-6 engines are advised to activate the vehicle's parking brake before shutting off its engine, because the shifter may incorrectly indicate park is engaged.

Customers with additional concerns may call 1-800-853-1403.

Fiat Chrysler is adding more than 467,000 Dodge and Jeep SUVs worldwide to a recall from last year to fix a potential stalling problem.

The company says it's adding 2012 and 2013 Dodge Durangos and 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokees outside North America to a recall from September of last year. The Jeeps have diesel engines.

Chrysler says fuel pump relays can deform and cause the pumps to malfunction. That can cause unexpected stalling or prevent the engines from starting. The company doesn't know of any crashes or injuries from the problem.

Dealers will install a new relay circuit. Chrysler says it will let customers know when they can schedule service.

The recall from last year covered 189,000 other Grand Cherokees and Durangos in the U.S.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Cadillac ATS vehicles manufactured April 25, 2012, to February 9, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the power-operated roof panels auto-close when the non-recessed "Slide" or "Tilt" switches are pressed. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) No. 118, "Power-Operated Window, Partition, and Roof Panel Systems."

CONSEQUENCE:
Because the switch is not recessed, the roof panel switch may inadvertently be pressed resulting in unintended auto-closure of the roof panel, increasing the risk of personal injury.

REMEDY:

CONSEQUENCE:
Brake pads that remain partially engaged with the rotors may cause excessive brake heat that may result in a fire.
