Overall for 14 months the GX sales have been up and I'm sure January 2015 sales of the GX will be good as well...and I look forward to the 3GX which should either be MY 2017 or 2018...

Can anyone tell me if the new Lexus RC is doing well for sales?

^That is going to be a very interesting redesign to watch.

1) Current GX has turned out to be quite a success story after Lexus refreshed it... possibly even negating negating the "GX is a niche product" argument that justified the rumored TX.

2) New generation V6 is just about here with 300+hp and a healthy increase in torque. This would be a great base engine with an optional V8.

3) This is a longshot, but the new Tacoma employs some new stamping technologies with high strength steel that reduces weight. I think GX, 4Runner and Tacoma are derivates of the same platform, so perhaps Lexus can scale the weight back a bit.

Even a lighter, more powerful, less expensive GX wouldn't tackle all of the packaging challenges in BOF vs. unibody for vehicles in this class, so perhaps a TX is still warranted. Not sure how it will all play out...

Lexus' goal is 1,200 units a month, and that's about what they sold last month despite capacity constraints. I assume that for the first year, they might sell more like 1,600 - 1,800 a month, if Lexus can build them.

The RC started selling the last three weeks of November 2014 and a full month in December 2014 and total sales were 1,922. So far a great start. We'll have to wait and see how 2015 plays out for the RC. I personally think the RC will do just fine. Very soon we should get the RC 200t and that will help RC sales.

Total sales of each IS generation:

1IS (2000 - 2005) = 97,652
2IS (2006 - 2013) = 323,232
3IS (2014 - Present) = 51,358

It looks like the 3IS is off to a great start. Very soon we'll get the IS 200t and that should help IS sales greatly definitely surpassing 1IS sales...

Assuming 3IS is near or surpasses 2IS units during its run, I wonder if 4IS will be the one that combined = over 1 million IS's. If not 5IS surely will be.

Only the RX and ES have sold over 1 million units, 1,512,687 and 1,315,266 respectively since inception.

By extrapolating the current IS numbers it would take another 14 or 15 more years for the IS to sell 1 million units...Wow!...so around 2029 or 2030...

The LS has sold over 552,494 since inception (1990).

Total sales of each ES generation:

1ES (1990 - 1991) = 37,476
2ES (1992 - 1996) = 194,534
3ES (1997 - 2001) = 240,305
4ES (2002 - 2006) = 356,692
5ES (2007 - 2012) = 341,170
6ES (2013 - Present) = 145,089

The 4ES was the most popular and overall the ES is the highest selling sedan. I actually like the 5ES and 6ES.

The GX will survive and most likely by a MY 2018...this list is speculative but sales of the GX are doing well and I'm sure Lexus wouldn't want to mess with that...

We'll see. GX could always fizzle, things change. GX has a nice little niche for itself currently. The true test will be when the TX get's released how much it'll affect the GX which will determine it's future. For now that Spindle refresh gave the GX the kick in the pants it needed for consumers.

Total sales by year for 1CT:

2011 = 14,381
2012 = 17,673
2013 = 15,071
2014 = 17,673
Total = 64,798

Kinda trippy how 2012 and 2014 sales are exactly the same. Overall the 1CT has done much better than the 1HS. Hopefully Lexus adds another variant to the CT line.

CT 200h
CT 200t

Total sales by year for 1HS:

2009 = 6,699
2010 = 10,663
2011 = 2,864
2012 = 649
2013 = 5
Total = 20,880

The HS still does live in Japan and has the new spindle grill.

Thanks for the numbers, Trexus. I'm really fond of the CT and think it's a great "gateway vehicle" to the brand. I'm glad that it's doing well, but agree that it would do even much better with another variant. The 2CT could really take off.

You're welcome. I agree that I'd like the CT to expand by including a CT 200t. Also I'd like Lexus to expand as a whole. It's very awesome that the RC and NX arrived into the scene and very soon the GS F. Hopefully the LC and TX comes into the scene sooner than later...and of course the IS 200t, RC 200t, GS 200t, etc...
