General Motors Co. (NYSE: GM) dealers in the United States delivered 274,483 vehicles last month for the company’s best December sales in seven years. Total sales were up 19 percent compared to a year ago. Retail sales were up 23 percent and fleet deliveries were up 6 percent.

“Chevrolet was strong in every segment of the market, from pickups and SUVs to cars and crossovers. Buick and GMC also had strong sales across the board, and our growth far outpaced the industry average,” said Kurt McNeil, U.S. vice president of Sales Operations. “Everything you need to have a great month was in place: Consumers felt good about the direction of the economy, interest rates and fuel prices were low, and our dealers did a great job introducing customers to our incredible range of new and redesigned vehicles.”

GM’s unique 3-pickup strategy – with new models spanning the light-duty, heavy-duty and mid-size segments – drove combined deliveries to almost 87,000 units in December, a 43-percent increase compared with a year ago.

5 GM vehicles – the Chevrolet Corvette and Spark, the Buick Enclave and Encore and the GMC Sierra – had their highest December sales ever.

7 GM vehicles – the Chevrolet Cruze, Equinox, Sonic and Spark, the GMC Terrain, and the Buick Enclave and Encore – had their best-ever annual sales in 2014.

Sales to individual consumers drove GM’s results, and were the highest in 75 months. Chevrolet, Buick and GMC retail deliveries were up 25 percent, 28 percent and 29 percent, respectively, compared with a 10 percent increase for the industry as a whole. Chevrolet had its best December retail sales since 2005 and Buick and GMC had their best December retail sales since 2004.

GM commercial sales, which are about 24 percent of fleet sales, were also strong. Deliveries were up 38 percent compared with a year ago, driven by a 65 percent increase in pickup sales. December marked the company’s 14th consecutive month of higher year over year sales in the commercial segment.

GM TV and dealer ads were promoting 20% off sticker pricing.

I heard one Kia dealer on the radio offering 50% off MSRP. I'm sure these were one of those 'only 1 on the lot' type of deals, but I didn't need a new car and I almost stopped in just to look

Edit; Found the dealer! http://lomanforthepeople.com/ Seems like it was up to 50% off for preowned 2014s. So not as awesome as I thought, but still pretty aggressive moves

Audi reported that its U.S. sales in 2014 increased 15.2% from the previous annual record in 2013 to 182,011 vehicles sold. December 2014 sales increased 13.1% to 19,238 vehicles.

December 2014 represented the best-ever December sales results in Audi history, as well as the 48th consecutive month of record sales for Audi in the U.S. The previous December record was set in 2013 with sales of 17,013 vehicles.

“These record-breaking sales results are a direct reflection of the commitment and dedication of our dealer partners,” said Scott Keogh, President, Audi of America. “Their recent investments into the Audi franchise total nearly $1 billion, and alongside the heavy investments in new products and technologies made by AUDI AG, the future is bright for Audi in the U.S.”

Sales of Audi SUV models remained robust through the end of the sales year. The Audi Q5 posted a year-over-year gain of 5.1% with 42,420 vehicles delivered in 2014. Year-to-date sales for the Audi Q7 increased 15.9% to a total of 18,517 vehicles. Sales of the all-new Audi Q3 also closed out strong with 3,654 vehicles sold in 2014.

December sales of the Audi A3 family maintained its steady pace, with 2,690 vehicles sold. 2014 resulted in a total of 22,250 vehicles from the A3 model line delivered to Audi customers.

Audi Certified pre-owned vehicles also increased to record levels for the month of December and for the full year. December 2014 marks the 17th consecutive month of record CPO sales, and it resulted in an increase of 8.1% and a total of 4,349 CPO vehicles sold. CPO sales in 2014 increased 17% to 47,023 vehicles.

Highlights:
The 2015 Audi A3 models, including new sedan and Cabriolet variants, have generated total sales of 22,250 units since the first of the family line models reached the U.S. in the spring.
Sales of Audi premium category vehicles (Audi A6, Audi A7, Audi A8, and Audi Q7) increased 6% year-to-date, representing 31% of total Audi sales year-to-date and 14% of the Audi year-to-date sales gain.
Sales mix for Audi S performance variants finished the month at 13.9% for the S3 sedan; 15.6% for the S4 sedan; 36.3% for the S5/ RS 5; 2.1% for the S6; 30.2% for the S7 / RS 7; 9% for the S8; 91.7% for the TTS Coupe and TTS Roadster, and 5.8% for the SQ5 crossover.

Lightbulb Kia

Kia Motors America (KMA) capped a record-setting year with best-ever December sales of 45,587 vehicles – up 35.6 percent over the same period in 2013 – and the highest annual sales total in company history of 580,234 vehicles, up 8.4 percent year-over-year and 4.0 percent over the previous record set in 2012. Leading the historic performance were the U.S.-built* Optima, which established a new single nameplate record of 159,020 units, and the iconic Soul, which saw sales increase for the fifth straight year.

“Kia’s momentum consistently outpaced the industry throughout 2014, and we finished strong with showroom traffic surging in December thanks to rising consumer confidence, historically low gas prices, and one of the youngest and best-looking lineups in the industry,” said Michael Sprague, executive vice president of sales and marketing, KMA. “More customers turned to Kia last year than ever before as we celebrated our 20th anniversary in the U.S., and our record-breaking performance demonstrates the speed at which our brand has transformed and matured into a proven leader in design, quality, technology and value.”

Arrow Subaru

Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) has reported record sales of 513,693 vehicles for the 2014 calendar year.
