it already devours X5 though.

I am not against 3rd row, it is interesting feature. Their take is probably that they will have TX with proper 3rd row, rather than tiny 3rd row that takes up luggage space, makes 2nd row less usable and trunk small with higher load floor.

"Problem" with 3rd row is whenever it is available as an option, small amount of people buy them, hence them taking it out of Rav4 for instance.

Front will have separate LED DRLs, which that render doesn't account for.

didn't notice this before, maybe because of the colors Lexus used for the LF-LC concepts but it has a floating roof(blacked out C pillar).

it is clearly noticeable on their most recent project, so Lexus is not unfamiliar with the idea.

RX just isn't long enough to put in a proper third row even with the expected lengthening. I took a look at the X5 third seat and it's very small and doesn't look comfortable. Photos show adult with his knees pressed against the back of the seat in front. Children fit OK but I wouldn't put my child in that coffin corner. The RX has been a 5 seater since inception and should remain that way and reportedly it will. I don't want to see the RX bastardized with a useless jump seat.
3 Row dreamers will have wait for the TX.

I wonder if the 8spd auto is going to be standard across the board (minus the Hybrid). Acura gave the news that the 2016 MDX will have 9 speed auto. It's lighter than the old 6spd by 66 lbs, and their updated SH-AWD is also 20 lbs lighter. The MDX already beats the RX in power and MPG, and that's with the 'older' drivetrain. Certain trims also comes with idle-stop, even though I'm not a fan of this feature. That's quite a margin the RX has to make up.

Agree. Pulling head, scratching my eyes to wait . I have been to mdx forum. Many issues that concern me for getting one over 50k. I
Noticed the wind noise, suspension was loud . The build, quality control are so bad. Doors and panels are not even line up even. It got fake wood and cheap chrome interior. No exhaust. What I like about it is the design,SHAWD ,space, low gravity seats. Cant beat lexus build in Japan. I had my car for over 7 years and still very smooth and no wind noise at all. Material in my IS way high quality compare to 2015 MDX. Probably wait forever.

more like first gen porsche, although i doubt it will be anywhere close to that soft.

But stance is great regardless of final looks. It looks like a new model and not new RX, which is great for people who already own RX... will give you option of buying something really new.

I don't see any floating C-pillars, so that's good.

....which means there is a possibility this is the TX and not the RX.

I still think the cayenne looks slightly too rounded to be masculine though - the sharp creases on the NX and the spy shots of the RX look very athletic indeed
