I really hope the engines are not carryovers. I've been looking at RX450h as of late, and it would be a shame if they didn't update the powertrain. Rather save the money and buy used if the difference is minor.

V6 is going to be new, with Atkinson cycle and d4s, so more powerful and better mpg.

nobody has heard anything about hybrid yet.

We know it's two rows, slightly larger with more aluminum than any other Lexus ever, 2.0t and new GR V6 with over 300hp.

Yessir, which makes perfect sense as to why the 4RX will remain the same in that regard

certainly hope all that's true, and seems like a good likelihood. if so, depending on looks they could have another even bigger success.

after NX, I expect a lot from RX... for me, it was always least desirable Lexus (maybe after ES).... But after NX (which is superb IMHO, inside and out), I cant wait to see what do they do with larger and more luxurious RX... not that I would buy one, since prices in EU are crazy (more expensive than GS), but still who knows.

Hopefully they have something good for the hybrid since it's the only trim I'm interested in. The use of aluminum intrigues me. Give me less weight over more power so I think I'd be content with the current 450h drivetrain if it means better MPG. Can't wait!!!!!!!!

with the new NX, i'm pretty sure the new RX be a 3 row version this time, maybe not as a true 3 row SUV like MDX or Highlander, but kind of like BMW X5, has a compact 3rd row for emergency use only. i won't be surprised if it comes with two powertrains, RX200T & RX350

It's pretty well documented that this RX will NOT have a 3rd row.

As Gojirra99 mentioned, the RX has almost always outsold the ES, recently by a pretty healthy margin. In 2010 the RX outsold the ES almost 2:1. in 2013 it was ~104,000 RX vs ~73,000 ES. 2014 is on pace to be similar for the two models.

Yes, but thats because 99,5 % of the SUV:s in RX class here are diesels . So everyone compares fuel consumption and price to 230-300 hp dieses, which makes even the RX h a pretty bad deal. Cars like RX 350 are irrelevant on the market here , they exist only because they are exported ( BMW, Audi, MB ) in larger numbers to nearby areas such as Russia which have same kind of rules and regulations ( but half the gas price ). So it won´t cost BMW/MB/ Audi a dollar to offer those models in EU anyway.

That would make sense, as Lexus traditionally has avoided diesels.

Yes, but it will be interesting to see what the NX does to RX sales....and, of course, the new RX redesign itself coming next year.
