gymratter - merged, thanks. it was me not Vh_Supra26 who created the separate thread originally because he had posted it in the 2014 CTS thread which didn't seem like the right place.

and he will not be able to explore the limits of its performance because he lives in the wealthy burbs where the speed limit is at most 45 MPH and traffic is heavy.

yah, but that's irrelevant. The new cts is now a legitimate e/5/gs/a6 competitor and its price reflects that. The new car is much bigger and much more luxurious so you shouldn't reference the old price when comparing. The previous gen cts-v was more of a c63 competitor rather than a e63.

I guarantee this will not sell very well. It's too soon to be pricing any CTS $80. Doesn't matter how much power it has. The same problem is currently taking place with the regular CTS. Both cars do not have the visual impact needed to get people in showrooms.

even the CTS V Sport has a tough time selling, Bass Mech got a V Sport premium for 18k off 70k MSRP. You can look on auto trader and a one year old CTS V Sport is already 50k some even high 40s. That is a ridiculous deal for a 420 hp luxury sedan. But this is priced too close to germans. I do not see this being worth 20k more than the outgoing CTS-V

all this talk about pricing is fairly meaningless as most midsize luxury cars are rented, i mean leased, these days.
