When is the new Chrysler 300 coming?

Perhaps, on my part, I should have said SRT. Consumer Reports, though, did review non-SRT 300 models and felt that the C version was also too stiff.

I thought the 300C I drove rode great, what I don't care about on that car is the interior.

From their Road Test in the 2014 automotive issue, CR says about the 300 under "High Points", "acceleration, transmission, ride, quietness, seat comfort, fit and finish".

I can't figure out why Chrysler is discontinuing the SRT 300.. I haven't really had any interest in the 300 until as of late. I'm especially digging that flat blue-ish color on the S with they gray rims. Hawt.

There's a rumor it may come back...minus the SRT badge. They're keeping that as Dodge-only performance branding.

Which is exactly why they're getting away from having a dodge equivalent of every vehicle they offer. The next 300 is rumored to switch over to FWD (without the Challenger) and the Grand Caravan will be dead soon. That eliminates the last of the overlap.

I'd hate to see the 300 go FWD...

Agreed, not the ideal step for enthusiasts, but the 300 actually sold quite well in its initial, LH-based FWD version. An old friend of mine (a restaurant manager) fell in love with the original FWD 300, and I went shopping with him for one (a nice Gunmetal blue/gray one) and helped him through the lease-deal.

I'd be very surprised if the Charger went FWD...I don't think that would happen. It just sells too well as a RWD muscle-car. It will also need to be kept in production if Chevy decides to increase production on the (currently) limited-number SS.

What irks me is that if they ditch the RWD, they will probably ditch the AWD that goes with it. I'm a firm believer in AWD if you're going to drive in really bad weather or icing conditions, though FWD, with decent tires, will cut it if it's not too bad.

The original 300M's interior, with its white finely-detailed gauges and dash, was more or less an attempt to mimic those of the original 1955 version. But, like most Chrysler interiors of the time (around 2000), I agree with you that it could have used better materials. That interior-quality problem was carried forward to the first RWD/AWD version, but seems to (finally) have been addressed on the latest version, after the company was bought out by Fiat.
