Default Listen up Lexus, it's what we want in cars.

Saw this yesterday hopefully Lexus will catch on and decide to put these in vehicles for a valet mode. I personally don't trust valet but it would be a step in the right direction.

You can buy a dash cam, it will work just as good.

But this is the reason why I never let anyone park my car.

Yes I never let anyone drive my car to begin with. Every time I see valet parking I'll pass and park somewhere else. I'd rather walk more than having my car messed up.

I own a dash cam myself, and I don't want them installed.

Here's a few reasons:

If all cars start having them, police will demand the video every time they stop you. If the video exonerates you, the video will of course 'disappear'. Even if they will need a warrant to obtain it, many won't know this and it will be a point where an escalation of force will take place, and in that case the video WILL be lost.

Video camera tech moves quickly, I'd like to be able to easily upgrade the camera.

The option on the car will probably cost way more than the most expensive dash cams.

I'd rather it just be a custom option that gets added.

Yea but that's more for a dash cam vs this which is only enabled by you for valet.

Same here I avoid valet parking and parking garages.. If they have to park it, I'm going elsewhere.

Why on earth would you give a new Corvette to a valet? Just asking for this...

The way the video was actually posted, it did not actually show the valet getting in the car, starting the engine, and driving. If the valet had not gotten out and looked at the front of the car, the camera probably could not have determined who was driving....only what was in front of the car, and how fast it was going. In fact, there is still no absolute proof that this particular valet was driving, though I agree that the chances were near 100%....enough, I guess, for his company to determine he was at fault and be fired. Still, there was a small chance that someone else could have walked front of the car....although we can presume that the car's owner remembered who he handed the keys to she he walked away.

Agree 100%.

Some places convert to "valet only" for special events, which I find particularly infuriating, but I still don't give in. Like you, I'd rather walk...get a health benefit too, so it's a win-win.

If they want to demo a Lexus, let them go to the dealer.

This is true, and I also have places I go that are valet only...but generally a Corvette is not a daily driver...perhaps when going to a place thats valet only you leave your supercar at home?

And in any event...look at that big, empty, open garage. He chose to valet park a Corvette, he gets what he deserves.

Might (?) have been trying to impress a date.....assuming that was not his wife getting out of the car with him.

Never mind.....I was partly wrong. I went back and watched the video again, and the narrator clearly said the lady was his wife.
