Lexus to Debut Two New Models at Detroit Auto Show?

In a speech to the Automotive Press Association, Lexus USA general manager Jeff Bracken suggested that two new models could be revealed at the Detroit Auto Show — from the Detroit Free Press:

The growth plans for Lexus are focused on performance and high-end vehicles, including the global debut of a performance vehicle in January at the North American International Auto Show, said Jeff Bracken, general manager of Toyota’s luxury brand.

Bracken would not provide further details of the performance vehicle, but did say it could be one of two vehicles to bow at the NAIAS.
Earlier this year, both Motor Trend & Autocar reported that a GS F high performance sedan would be built in 2015 — this could be the model that Bracken is hinting at, though a production LF-LC coupe is also a remote possibility.

There’s no shortage of possibilities for the second model, though it does seem unlikely that Lexus would debut two completely different vehicles at the same auto show. Perhaps it will be the standard version of whatever performance vehicle is introduced?

GSF and RC convert? I still take the MT article that said the RC convert is DOA with a grain of salt, have not seen any other confirmation.

GS - F is definitely one of them, not sure of the general GS refresh will also be shown, RX or LX refresh might also be on the docket.

Toyota is showing the new Tacoma in Detroit I believe, bucking their trend of showing trucks in Chicago.

That's news to me! Exciting! Any links you have to back this up? I'm just curious that's all. The last Tundras etc were in Chicago so this is odd.

Thanks!

Guessing GS F and possibly GS200t/GS350 to show off full spindle of revised GS.

The two new models could be the GS F and either the TX or 4RX concept. Come to think of it, it could also be the next generation LS...

These are definitely exciting times!!!

I don't want to see any LS Concept. I want Lexus to blow up all (Phaeton, A8, Flying Spur, Ghost, 7 Series, Panamera, S Class, Maybach, Tesla,) with a shock production LS.

i would be pissed if it was just is200t or something like that....although a ct200t might be appealing.

I have a feeling that we will see a updated GS along with the GS-F *crosses fingers* and a concept for the LS, then in the NYIAS they will reveal a new body 2016 Lexus RX line up.

Have you been living underneath a rock or are you not easily amused?

Ever since the LFA and the introduction of the spindle grill on the 4GS, LX, RX, ES, LS, IS, GX, CT and HS (Japan) there has been tons of excitement. Even more recently with the RC and NX and just a few days ago with the RC convertible concept...

I can't wait and look forward to the NAIAS to see those two new models from Lexus and hoping one will be a GS F and maybe a three row CUV (TX)...next generation RX or LS...or who knows an entirely new model all together...no one knew about the RC convertible coming to the LA auto show...
