^I have an odd prediction that GS F may end up weighing slightly less than RC F. I think the heaviest part of the RC F is the IS C midsection which was included for rigidity... GS chassis is lighter to begin with.

Highly unlikely, its easy to restyle parts bumper headlights and fenders, however you need all new tooling for the rear as the quarter panels are connected to the rest of frame. The best lexus will be able to do is restyled tails (same shape) and a new bumper.

I'm guessing the GS-F will be $8K+ more than the RC-F.

So that would make it around 70k, still good value. ABT electronics had 2014 535i M Sport and the sticker said 72k.

V8, bigger wheels, bigger brakes, etc.. that weights... GS350 is 3750lbs, right?

If it came with forged wheels and 2 piece rotor, I don't see any weight gain on those. Putting Lexus 5.0L there wouldn't gain more weight, it's like ~150lb heavier than 3.5L V6.

I would expect the GSF to weigh a little more than the RCF, but its a much bigger car and 4 doors

There is a 210lb weight difference between RC 350 and RC F (3,748 vs 3,958).

If you factor that in for GS 350 (3,795) it seems like the GS F might come in right at about 4,000lbs. Obviously models with TVD or other upgrades will weigh more.

However, it would be nice if GS has more carbon fiber to offset the weight gain

I guess we'll know soon.

I don't understand your thinking here. If they restyle the bumper, they can reshape the taillights at the bottom just as they did the headlights in front. The bottom of the tails meet the bumper, and all that has to be reshaped is the lower part of the decklid which is just metal stamping. Lexus adjusted the shape of the taillamps in the 2010 LS refresh and obviously the 2013 refresh.

I am wondering what kind of numbers the GSF will be putting hopefully from the 5 liter at least 467hp like the RCF. Maybe Lexus could surprise with 500hp +. As for turbos given the NX has them who knows maybe in your dreams.......

I just saw these pictures and am SO impressed - I love the re-style and with close to 500 hp (I hope) it should be awesome! I'm off to buy some lottery tickets.

All bolt on parts are easy to restyle because you don't really have to worry about things like crumple zones, some of it is basic steel stamping, and plastic parts just injection moldings. However if you want to restyle something like the rear end and tail light shape you have a lot more work because the rear portion of the car is a solid piece, so even a very minor change in the shape is a lot of work on top of that you would have to more crash tests.

Here is an example of how a car looks stripped of its parts, If you just change one thing you are essentially making a change in the structural pieces of steel.
