Just saw an episode of Motor Week with those results.
It was said families didn't like the Camry design both in and out.

interesting. I bet it comes down to transmissions. I was shopping last year and drove the 4 cylinder Camry and Accord and ended the test drives early after trying to get onto the freeway, the cars failed right there due to the CVT automatics. The dealer told me I would have to get a V6 to get a real auto.

Looking at the Sonata I see no mention of a CVT and even see an option for a dual clutch gearbox automatic

I'll have to go test drive one, everyone I know who bought a recent Hyundai in the last 5 years love them. I'll avoid the turbo models due to horrid upkeep and reduced longevity

^ Camry doesn't use a CVT.

Bizarre results overall. Placing the Chrysler higher than an Accord and Camry is absurd.

Kinda meaningless in regards to sales. Its Camry > Accord > Altima > Fusion. Not much is going to change that.

If you check the 'Judges Score' ,the Camry didn't do well in any category but it still will sell well.

Yes, they may use "real families" on these tests but real families who know little about cars and driving can be easily swayed by a good salesman or biased auto critic.

Obviously, as this is a Lexus forum, the Toyota fanboys will be out in force defending the Camry but for me that list is pretty much spot on. The Camry can be best described as "15ft of car". It frustrates me as we all know Toyota can do so much better but they seem content to be mediocre and middle of the road. If they don't snap out of their complacency and start designing some properly desirable product I can see them struggling in the future. No company is too big to fail.

It just goes to show that one size doesn't fit all. In this case the participants preferred other cars over the Camry. If I was shopping in this segment the Camry wouldn't be too high on my list. I just prefer a couple of other models on the list.

I agree, the Camry will continue to sell well and a majority of owners will be satisfied with their choice.

The Camry would be my 4th or 5th choice and I don't even like it at all.
