MB V-Class will be in U.S. 2015, no more Sienna/Odyssey for the wealthy

Sorry, but that Mercedes looks just as vanilla as other minivans. Why? BECAUSE IT'S A MINIVAN! The only difference is the badge. Slap a Lexus logo on the current Sienna and some will be singing a different tune. Furthermore, one can argue that it looks hideous. Nissan Cube/Scion XB in the rear, anyone?

With all due respect, at least based on the exterior styling, I fail to see much difference between a vanilla Odyssey/ Sienna and this vanilla-Mercedes........though with the Mercedes at probaby twice the price.
In fact, if it's non-vanilla you want, for probably significantly less money than the Mercedes people-mover, one can get a Buick Enclave, which, IMO, has an interior plush enough (especially at that price) to knock one's socks off.

This platform is offered in FWD, RWD and RWD-based AWD/4WD versions in Germany, and also offered in panel van and wagon (passenger minivan) versions (like its big brother Sprinter and competitor Ford Transit Connect). I don't know combinations of cargo, passenger, FWD, RWD, AWD are though. We are likely only to see the RWD version here though.
Note that the passenger version is meant to replace the not-very-popular R-Class.

Looks hideous even for a minivan ... I wish they have a version of the Toyota Alphard as a Lexus available here ..... and even with the Toyota badge, I still easily prefer the Alphard ......

My Sienna Limited looks so much better from the outside ( front particularly ) . Plus this thing has that ugly slit on the side for the track for the door. For what this is going to cost they could have gotten rid of that. This thing looks like a boxy Nissan van but with Mercedes pricing and reliability. When I have kids in the car I need to car TO NEVER EVER EVER BREAK DOWN. Yeah it looks nicer on the inside but its a van.........we aren't as into looks as functionality, safety, and reliability .
