That article just says cost cutting it says nothing about where/what AT ALL. Talk about cherry picking. Also next time I'm at a Toyota dealer I'm going to look for these exact problems I have a feeling they are complete BS.
glove-box door that is of such thin plastic that it feels like a piece off cardboard in your hand, then latches on such a flimsy piece of hardware that the door barely stays shut, and when the seat-heater twirl-***** are so loose that they wobble in your fingertips, that goes beyond simple opinion....into fact.

My comment applied to the current American-spec Avalon, and I meant what I said. I don't consider my statement B.S., though I have no problem with those who civilly and courteously disagree with me if they have good reason to.

I'll look at one to verify your "facts". I better find a door that barely stays shut and controls that wobble in your hand. And materials that are like cardboard.

The glove box lid had an extremely thin light feel to it (the ES350's also does to an extent), and the latch did hold it shut but seemingly in a very flimsy manner. The small, cylindrical-shaped twirl-***** on the console, for the heated seats, had a loose, somewhat wobbly feel to them as you grasped and rotated them. I don't know of any other way to describe it.....that's why I made the statement I did.

My comments referred to the American-spec 2013/2014 Avalon. I have not sat in a 2015 yet to see if any improvements have been made.

Also, let's not get too far off-topic. The thread is generally about a Hyundai/Kia fine.

I'll check it out for myself, the U.S. spec car is the same as what we have here.

Yeah the new ES is awful. We never got the previous generation ES, but looking at photos of its interior, it looked a lot more Lexus'esque
