Honda needs to update their charts. The S2000 hasn't been produced in 5 years.

It's because they still reported 2 sold through october 2013. I assume it'll fall off their charts starting in 2015 reporting.

Default Camry leads again.

After losing to the Honda Accord in August and September, the Toyota Camry has taken back its sales lead for the month of October.

Toyota sold 33,164 Camry sedans last month, making it the only sedan to hit the 30,000 mark for October. The Honda Accord trailed behind with just 27,128 sales. The Nissan Altima came in third place with 23,544 sales, followed closely by the Ford Fusion with 22,846 sales.

October 2014 Sales Chart

TORRANCE, Calif. (November 3, 2014) – Toyota, Scion and Lexus today reported total October 2014 sales results of 180,580 units, an increase of 6.9 percent from October 2013.

Toyota division posted October 2014 sales of 157,225 units, up 7.5 percent.

“October vehicle sales were the best for the month in 10 years as an improving economy and lower gas prices drove strong SUV sales,” said Bill Fay, Toyota division group vice president and general manager. “At Toyota we also saw a big jump in Camry sales thanks to the successful launch of the new 2015 model.”

Lexus reported October sales of 23,355 units, a 2.8 percent increase on a raw-volume basis year-over-year.

“The luxury SUV segment is one of the hottest in the industry, led by the Lexus RX,” said Steve Hearne, Lexus vice president of sales and dealership development. “That should continue as the holiday season and winter approach.”

E Class was selling 5-6k+ for many months... I guess new C and S Class on either side of it are pulling away some sales?

Shady that BMW includes 3/4 Series in one number. I have a feeling they didn't want to even risk losing the #1 sales title for the 3 series... and not that I think they're in immediate danger right now, but the C Class has been creeping up on the 3 for a few years now. 6 Series is broken out vs. 5, but 4 isn't vs. 3? Interesting

1680 7 Series, wow, what are they throwing in to move this volume? Still a pale number against the S class.

Mercedes incentive spending wasn't very strong in October- you'll note several models were down for October. This was a good way to encourage people to look at the new C-class. I believe a solid chunk of those C-class sales were W204 models as well that they were blowing out...which likely hurt CLA sales.

Also note that BMW is just 5,389 cars ahead of Mercedes in the sales race. We'll see if the GLA closes that gap!

I was just thinking about Toyota sales... October is their record in last 10 years.

What can Toyota do to sell more? Not much. New small car and SUV will help, but at that point some other current vehicles will grow a year older so they will sell slightly less - it will balance out... Toyota brand has probably reached maximum level in the USA, without big truck performing on the level F150 or Silverado.

As to the Lexus, with NX and RC, as well as new RX and TX, there is a lot of space to grow since they are entering 3 segments they were not in before.

^I was thinking much the same looking at those numbers yesterday. Toyota is pretty "on top of the world" right now when you look across the charts. A few products, such as LS and GS, could be selling a bit higher, but as you note, when considering life cycles and the big picture... ToMoCo doesn't have much room to grow.

there's always tons of room to grow.

a 'better' prius for example, could really increase sales.
as spwolf said, a more competitive tundra could really increase sales too, but the new f-150 is a giant leap forward with the big aluminum push.
a new venza, the 4runner desperately needs a new model, and of course scion could use some new blood too.

Hyundai Motor America today announced October sales of 50,081 units, down 6 percent versus the same period in 2013.

“While we struggled in a couple of segments, our compact and midsize-CUV’s continue to outpace the overall industry,” said Bob Pradzinski, vice president of national sales. “Our all-new 2015 Genesis sedan continued its brisk pace, finishing up more than 50 percent for the month.”

Santa Fe and Tucson, Hyundai’s CUV’s, were up 7.6 percent and 78.2 percent, respectively.
