I myself wasn't posting any. The cars I mentioned met the topic-criteria.

Were there not a lot of 2 seater sport cars in the 80s?

Not as many as there were 2+2s. And a number were FWD, which, of course, are usually not considered as pure as the RWD ones.

My Datsun 280zx was an '82 model and my Mazda RX-7 was an '85 model. BOTH were two-seaters. Neither had seats in the back. Do these look like 4-seaters to you?

If you re-read what i wrote I said some of you are listing 2+2 cars before or after the 80's didnt say which models.

If you want to get technical 2+2 or 4 seats were optional for both those generation cars. So many did in fact have back seats.

I tried to avoid naming supercars because that would be too easy. I could easily have listed any number of Ferraris, Lotus, Lambos, etc.

How about the iconic DeLorean?

Personally, on that image you posted, I liked that plush-feeling velour cloth they used back then. Today, most upmarket seats have either gone to true or imitation leather.

The angular, oragami styling looks like nothing else built in the last half of the 20th century. It is a unique design. I really wanted a Mark I, flip up headlight Mazda Miata, until I seriously started looking at the MK1 MR2. I really do not give a **** that the Miata is easier/cheaper to service, not to mention much easier to find at a reasonable price.

I know pampered, low mileage, original MK1 MR2's are out there. You can easily fine one in that 5 to 10k range, which IMO is an absolute steal for the type of pedegree you get with that car.
Ooooooo

The Datsun 280z

Obviously, the MR2 was my favorite! My dad had an '88 4-speed auto (LOL) and I eventually owned the MKII.

Though I did like the styling of the '88 Fiero GT, Triumph XR7, and Alfa Spyder.

Favorite 2-seat supercar (toss-up) was the '88 959 and '89 348 GTS

I did read correctly. I posted what I thought were the best two-seaters in the 80's. The fact that Datsun introduced a 4-seater later in the game is neither here nor there. My car was a 2-seater and it was one of the best.
