Default ExpressLube and Platinum Warranty

Our 2010 RX 350 recently quit while driving in Houston, and we had the vehicle taken to Westside Lexus.
The service adviser said upon inspection that whoever changed the oil last (ExpressLube) broke loose a piece of the baffle underneath the oil filler cap and it lodged someplace in the engine which has resulted in severe ($$$$) damage.
I noted the vehicle has a Lexus Platinum Extended Warranty and he informed me it does not cover this situation.
Anyone else have experience with this? Any suggestions?
Thx!

Warranty wont cover if someone (ExpressLube) caused the damage... but maybe ExpressLube could cover it? Someone might have more experience in this than me.

Is the baffle made of plastic? How can it break? Maybe it comes back to Lexus for manufacturing defect, and under warranty.
