i think they an awd, which maybe slows it down some? also made it more spendy.
reminds me of debates 20+ yrs ago about LS vs S class. at the rate they're progressing, the next equus / k900 type vehicles could be quite competitive, but of course there's more to it than that (branding). the lexus LS is a FABULOUSLY refined vehicle. the refresh was good, although i'm not a fan of the spindle front, but the new one can't come soon enough.
one thing i think is truly dumb on the k900 is the fake buick-like side 'port'. it's tacky. i also think that they should do like on the genesis and use a car logo and not do the big kia badges front and back.
The LS is so much better than the Kia, and yes, it worth the extra money!

And that's what many Mercedes and BMW owners said back in the 90's when Lexus was on the rise: "When it all comes down to it, you're still driving a Toyota."
Hec, the extremely pretentious crowd still says it today.

They're 6,000 feet above sea level, their 0-60s are always way long because of that.
Good find, I enjoy their reviews.
I have not driven the K900, but I have driven the latest Hyundai Equus. The K900 has zero appeal to me quite frankly, I don't like the style of it, I don't like the interior, I think it just looks like a big Optima...which isn't a good thing. Going down the road...is it a K900, an Optima? A Cadenza? That question is fine when you cant tell a C from an S from an E, or an ES from a GS from an LS...but when you can't tell your $70k luxury car from a $25K Optima...theres a problem.
The Equus I think has a much better style and looks more like a large luxury car. I'd say its 90% an LS, and I think they hit it on the head where the difference is in the details. The Equus (and I assume the K900) lack that feeling of total refinement the LS has.
