Not really, cars with smaller wheels are faster on the track. Big wheels are for show...

The cts v sport comes with 2 wheels the smaller have a summer tire the bigger an all season.

With a smaller wheel you have less rotating mass

For everything.

The only performance advantage of a bigger wheels is to fit bigger brakes, other then that, it is bad for performance in every ways.

Look at all the ultra fast modded Nissan GTRs, guys looking for more performance get smaller then stock wheels.

+1 You want less rotating mass entering corners, one way to have less mass is by having a smaller wheel.

Except, the S version has the bigger wheels rather than the smaller wheels. If bigger wheels are for show, then the non-S should have the bigger wheels.

But Porsche doesn't work that way either.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying the non-S should have 19"s, and the S should have 20"s.

Looks like this car will be coming in just a smidge under 4000lbs. She's a piggie, so I expect this car to be just as fast as the M3/M4 and not anything more. Supposedly it's going to be blast to drive though.

Mercedes is no stranger to offering small-ish wheel options and neither is BMW. The M3/4 comes with 18" standard.

Bigger, lighter wheel reduces rotating mass. This could be the case here. Though with so much more power and suspension tuning, a single lb per wheel wouldn't matter much.

The real questions prospective owner/enthusiasts are wondering is how well she respond to mods, and will she keep her signature AMG bark.
