Default What's Your Favorite Thing About Your Lexus?

Just posted this on the Blog.

We love our cars for all different kinds of reasons, but sometimes it's the simplest of things which really seals the deal. When I drove the 2015 RC F--and I loved a lot of things about it--I was absolutely captivated by the note of the V8. It sounds wonderful in a way that only a normally aspirated engine can, but in the weeks since I drove it, I found myself remembering other--more pedestrian--things, like how great the seats are.

What's your favorite thing about your car?

The day I sat in the driver seat of the loaner IS250 in 2006, I could not believe how much the car was designed with the driver & navigator in mind. It had no space in the back seat for adults, just kids 6-12yrs old.
Every time I drive, it feels like I am piloting a luge. tight spaces, but amazing feeling. It got even better when I updated to f-sport shocks in the front. The dang bimmers never gave me that feel.

Lexus's may or may not be tops in their respective segments but they offer some of the most complete packages of any cars out there.

It would be easier for me to answer the question "What's your least favourite thing about Lexus?". There would be much less to enumerate

But as the question goes here's what I like: Lexus is not a "me-too" product. It is understated, yet of better value. However it is bold in its identity, and somewhat exclusive through its rarity. Some things are not perfect, but it is in the details where it outdoes the other by far.

My first love for Lexus started with the IS200. Maybe not a better drivers car than the a BMW 320i, but it felt so solid, so tight and secure. Not a powerful engine, but with a lot of character. My favourite thing was looking at the instrument panel with its three small gauges in the big one, like a chronograph watch. Such a nice detail.

That I found interest in the Lexus brand and like all its other RWD based cars.

I love the quality, attention to detail, reliability, and the fact that they are creating more dynamic vehicles with the driver in mind. Example: I traded my LS460 for an ISF and I can tell you Lexus is going down a great road right now. So loving the interiors as well

I can only speak for the 2IS (mostly)...

The interior on the 2IS is such a nice place to be. Even after driving a 3rd gen for a week, I found myself missing the "cocoon" feeling from the interior of the 2nd gen.

Also, the 2IS has a timeless look that is only getting better with age.

Little details, like how the temperature numbers scroll on the LS460, and how the auto up windows slow down just before closing to avoid a rough thud/whack.

The little things/details like the gauge/needle dance on startup, the overall look/stance/appearance of the car, and the little handle inside the trunk that allows for you to close it without having to get grimy little finger prints all over your freshly washed & waxed paint
