I disagree, they all cross compete to an extent. A yukon denali is 70k suv,.

He's not saying they are, he's saying the Navigator really competes with the Yukon Denali more than the Escalade which is more expensive.

OK...perhaps a borderline competition. Unlike GM, which has three large full-size SUVs on the same platform and extended wheelbase versions (Tahoe/Suburban, Yukon/Yukon XL, Escalade/Escalade ESV), Ford only has two basic lines (Expedition/Expedition EL, Navigator/Navigator L). The Navigator obviously has to compete with the upmarket GM products, though, IMO, in its marketing, it's closer to the Escalade. But I'll respect the views of those who say it's closer to the Yukon Denali. And, it's true that neither the Yukon or Escalade sells for chump change.

I do agree, they all do cross compete. But the Navigator competes head-on with the Yukon Denali, MSRP starts at $61k for the big Lincoln while the Denali starts at $64k. An LTZ Suburban tops out at $67k

As for the Cadillac, the MSRP ranges from $72k-$97k, the badge alone and prestige of the Escalade allows it to be considered in any conversation when it comes to Range Rover or Lexus LX (The Escalade is the only tier one product currently made by Cadillac). You could easily see an Escalade in a millionaires garage, but you will not likely see a Navigator. Its all about the prestige at this price point, the Esacalade has it but I'm afraid the Navigator does not.

Not a fan of the interior on this and even though i was never a fan of the previous pre facelift Navigator i think it looks better now after the refresh.

Yes it does indeed look better. I have seen a number of these on the road.

Motor Trend ranked the Navigator fifth out of six in a test against its competitors. That thread is currently active here in Car Chat.

I just speced out an Expidition EL King Ranch for $65,000 on Ford's website. Now that is the Ford I'd like to own, its a handsome design vs the ugly Navigator.

The Navigator has ALWAYS been a way to pay too much for an ugly version of the Expedition. Ford has never really given it the real premium treatment to truly compete with the Escalade, Range Rooney, Benz, etc.

I'll grant you the Expedition King Ranch interior looks nice, but why would you guys consider the Navigator's interior ugly? One of its main styling themes, inside, is the classic Continental dash of the 1960s. We saw the same theme, in a somewhat smaller package, with the former Lincoln Aviator.

Maybe it's because it's the classic 60's styling. That was some 50 years ago. And yes, I remember it well.

Each to his or her own, I guess, but retro 60s styling today has become rather widespread, simply because a lot of people like it. We see it in the Mustang, Challenger, Charger, Camaro, Navigator, Mini, VW Beetle, Fiat 500, and others.
