Haha those really hardcore traditionalist Ferrari purists can't appreciate the FF because they aren't open to changes such as:
-AWD/4WD
-Fastback styling
-Four seats
They are living in denial because they can't accept the reality that this car is the successor to their beloved 612 Scaglietti.
Well who cares about those closed-minded old farts. The FF is 100% AWESOME

Same could be said of Porsche traditionalists and the Cayenne. Though there are some that embrace it, as I've seen a Cayenne trailing a GT2

The 4 seat Ferraris have always been considered less desireable and worth less second hand.

I've always been a fan of the mid-engine V8s. I think I prefer the 360 Challenge Stradale, but I love all the ones from the 355 to the 458 Italia. I just really like the setup. On that note, I got to drive a 468i for the first time yesterday, & I loved it. That being said, while it was an all-around better car, I felt more comfortable driving & had more fun in the Gallardo LP 560-4.

The sales numbers reflect the whole-hearted rejection of the FF IMO. Its one of those love it/hate it type of cars, people are voting with their wallets, the 458 Italia sells way better. And IMO its not price, an FF is 300k base, 458 is $235k base price. At that price range, 65k is not a make it or break it type of deal IMO.

The 4 seat Ferraris have always been considered less desireable and worth less second hand.
But the way Ferrari positions the FF over the 458 is like the difference between First Class and Business Class. One of the obvious reasons being V12 > V8 (in the food chain)
And for me, Ferrari is not about pure volume sales. Sure, Marchionne is now asking for grand total sales of 10,000 units a year for the whole brand...............but personally, these premium prestige performance vehicles are about exclusivity and uniqueness.
Hence, the FF sells less units because they produce less of it from the factory BUT it doesn't mean that the car is under-selling.
Supply-and-demand included, it is selling within what Ferrari expects it to be.
Just like how MB sells more S63 cars over S65 units.........because the V8 models have lower entry point over their V12 counterparts (probably because it costs more money to make V12 engines over V8 engines, etc etc)
Just my opinion =)
