Actually the A6 is just getting its facelift in the next few months (and its slight). No full redesign yet. EDIT: looks like it won't hit the US until the 2016 MY, Europe gets it very soon. Official pic below.

-The Macan would be my choice even though the cargo hold is cramped and so is the back seat.
-The Audi SQ5 would be my wildcard choice simply because it has more cargo space due to a slightly less curved cargo hold

That's a possibility, though a lot of folks are still hoping for a GS-F which would likely come with the V8 from the new RC-F (possibly retuned). That will likely out price the Macan (unless you go crazy with options, which as we know happens WAY too easily w/ Porsche).

I've read that Lexus is working on a turbo 3.0 liter 6-cylinder, but haven't heard when it's going to be available. Likely the big brother to the NX200t's 2.0 liter. When that will make it's way into the current lineup is anyone's guess, it is time to retire the old 3.5 liter though.

I had one. Those exhaust tips burn your legs, I could never get use to them!!!! I would take a '14 SRT Jeep in a heartbeat. They are sexy

a '14/'15 GC SRT is not cheap... looking at $70k+ but it is a BEAST. tires are ENORMOUS front and back.

Don't get me wrong, I would too. Was just saying I liked the unique exhaust. I hated the cheap interior of the first.

I had a first gen. too still miss it, it was sooooo much fun to drive, the new one is better in the respect of being an every day SUV and usability to haul stuff, and the interior is ALOT better than the first gen. Im pretty sure you can get a slightly used one for under 70k especially a 2012 and 13 with the six speed transmission the new 8 speed is better though for fuel economy and the gearing is better suited for the engine from what ive been reading on the forums, but that old transmission is bullet proof especially since it was built by AMG :P

Yeah, I think I will pass on american cars. They really don't appeal to me at that price range.

There was a time I would have said the same thing, but I think the Grand Cherokee is a standout product that doesn't have a typical "american" feel. I think it feels quite premium and Germanic in many respects, especially the upper level trims such as the Overland, Summit and SRT.

there's a reason for that, as Jeep's parent company Chrysler was owned by Mercedes Benz and their platforms were used for vehicles like the Grand Cherokee and Durango. i've read for example that the Durango borrowed heavily from the GL platform.

What about the Hyundai Genesis?

At circa 50k you could get the fully loaded 429hp Genesis V8
