Report says Lexus GS F and four-door RC F coming in 2016
All-new model coming to L.A. show this November
British media is reporting Lexus will introduce the GS F and a four-door RC F sometime in 2016.
Numerous prototypes of the Lexus GS F were caught on camera last year but it seems the production version won't come out until 2016, according to sources close to Lexus cited by Autocar. With an estimated starting price of 80,000 GBP (130,500 USD / 100,700 EUR), the GS F will be powered by RC F's V8 5.0-liter engine but further tweaked to develop close to 500 bhp (373 kW) and almost 400 lb-ft (542 Nm) of torque.
Besides the engine, the GS F will also borrow the RC F's rear-wheel drive chassis and strut front / multi-link rear suspension setup while the aggressive body is expected to include a new front grille looking even more radical than it does on the 2015 RC F. The high-performance coupe is available with a carbon fiber package but at this moment it’s not known whether the GS F will receive the same treatment.
Shortly after the GS F’s introduction, Lexus will reportedly launch a four-door cheaper variant of the RC F which could possibly be followed by a convertible derivative. Before that, Lexus is believed to bring to this year's Los Angeles Auto Show in November an all-new model although its identity hasn't been disclosed. However, Toyota's Director of Business Operations, Rob Leupen, did hint a while back at a new IS F with hybrid tech.

autocar is using the laughable 3300-3400 weight of the M, which in real life never panned out, its more like 3600. Lexus was far more truthful to weight than BMW was. How the heck is it 6mpg thirstier too? M4 gets 17/26 for the manual and the exact same 16/25 the RCF gets when you get the DCT. Straight up false claim. Autocar has always been euro biased but there some straight up false numbers being thrown around here.
European MPG numbers are done at much lighter conditions than US, hence BMW gets better official mpg than Lexus in the UK, but worse in more realistic EPA MPG.
What I find sad is that apparently he thinks V8 is old school in a bad way. Thats just sad and hilarious at the same time.

so no lap times to confirm how fast cars really are. People keep talking about what "feels fast" Turbocharged cars will always feel faster. Transmission delay? Did these people even drive it in Sport+ and M mode? Even my IS350 FSport in M mode has very quick shift times. Its no DCT but 90% there.

UK publications are the worse.
Every single Lexus UK review I've read always panned the Lexus in favour of the Germans.
Read German reviews as they're actually more honest

Why does the new Lexus RC F weigh so much? - http://www.autocar.co.uk/blogs/new-c...-weigh-so-much
so this car seems to kind of compete more with a mustang gt.
the 2015 mustang gt has a 5.0L V8, 435hp and 400lb-ft torque. manual version is 3705lbs, and auto is 3729lbs.
so is it really the case that a v8 mustang gt will be over 300lbs lighter than an RC F?

Wowwww....ww....4057 LBS ? SPeechless
Bitkahuna, if the RC is a direct competition for the GT, I fear the GT will win the market big time.

The weight is a big disapointment for me. Maybe this is a case of over-engineering in one area and/or another. Even the weight of the new mustang GT I believed a bit too much as well.
All aside this car is still mighty beastly

I would still picking the Mustang GT over it 4TheNguyen. Better pricing, and with 15k more, I can make it into one of the Un-beatable Beast.
Beside, Mustang are cheap in parts, aftermarket, huge enthusiast crowd, everyone knows how to work on it.

When all is said and done, mass is the largest concern, and it will be difficult and expensive to address. BMW’s M4, the RC F’s biggest competition at the moment, is some 400 pounds lighter. The RC F needs that edge we described, but knowing that the F team eventually turned the IS F into something truly special, we’re sure they can make the RC F as edgy to drive as it is to look at. The RC F is a really good car, but there are a number of great cars in the $60,000-plus range.
Motor Trend:
Frankly, the more than 400-pound weight difference between the RC F and the M4 is enough to tip things in favor of the BMW. But the RC F, at the very least, is a compelling alternative. Exactly how compelling we’ll have to find out at a later date when we compare them directly. Until then, I want you to understand that I enjoyed the new Lexus Frankencoupe much more than the numbers would lead you to believe. You probably will, too.
Automobile Magazine:
And that's the beauty of the 2015 Lexus RC F. In the hands of a highly skilled driver, the M4 may post faster lap times. But drivers without as much talent and/or experience should be able to come closer to unlocking the potential of the RC F thanks to an electronic stability control system that behaves more like a personal driver coach than a tyrannical nanny. It's too early to tell whether it will be advantage Lexus. But it's clear that the RC will be a player in the game.

I'm liking this RC-F it may be my next car, however I am waiting on the C63.
As much as I like the RC-F there are few things that are putting me off. 8AT, Old 5.0L with no aftermarket support and the weight. My CLS63 is heavy car, I want something a bit lighter...
What I love, the styling is awesome. Eat your heart out M4, the price is just right. Its an old motor but NA V8's are awesome. Im expecting the C63 to be closer to 70K than to 60k due to the in between 450 AMG model.
