The most expensive vehicle actually sitting on Lexus lots these days is the LX570. They sticker for over $90K whereas the LS's on the lot are in the $80K's .
That said, I'd love to see a gorgeously styled coupe in the tradition of the old BMW 850 or the Mercedes CL600.

Maybe they're going after the Escalade.
I was just reading somewhere the other day from some blog based on the filings that the new LS is going to be called the LS 500 as I predicted all along.
I also predicted that it's going to be somewhat similar to what we have now the same way 430 was to the 400.
It will definitely be a revamp but not revolutionary and it will have a UR engine that is already in existence.
The hybrid model will probably have an Atkins cycle V-8 or V6 paired with the Hybrid drive.
This will possibly carry the brand until electric is sorted out.

It doesn't sound like a commitment to add a second flagship to me, but rather a "we could if we wanted to" type of a comment. Though I do think it'll probably happen.
From the linked article:
My local dealers have a few LS models on their lots in the $102k range.

"In addition to the LS (a large sedan), there could be another flagship in our lineup," Bracken said.

Lexus to announce a "2nd" flagship in January
Apparently, Lexus' U.S. division has been in talks about developing a Second flagship vehicle to the LS.
Also, for those interested (I may be), they are also looking to add a 3rd row to the RX. I personally think that would be great, as the RX is a tad bit cramped.
Happy reading to all of my enthusiast!

Make a flagship sports car a regular model in your lineup please! The LFA was awesome but was way too disconnected from the rest of the Lexus lineup and should've been followed up with a regularly made and reasonably attainable sports car. The R8 has done wonders for Audi's brand image because it actually can be seen on the road often enough for people who don't actively follow the car industry to aspire to it. There's no reason Lexus can't do the same if not better if only Lexus stops wasting its best talents in pointless and irrelevant projects such as the Hoverboard.

That would be the role of their first flagship, the LS, and not the second. The 2000 LS used to not only compete with the S-Class but actually beat it in many aspects, including sales and many comparisons from the critics. Now it's by most measures a class below. Lexus needs to stop bean-counting and start refocusing on true innovations in their next-gen LS to make it a true flagship not only in their lineup but also in the segment once again.
