Default Drivers voice frustrations at being mistaken for uber

http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/201...s-lyft-tweets/

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – Drivers in the Bay Area, New York and other big cities say they are increasingly experiencing unwanted passengers climbing in the back seat of their cars.

Dozens of people have taken to social media to complain about total strangers assuming that they were working for the San Francisco-based cab-alternative. The system, which operates in 44 countries, requires drivers to create an account with payment info before they can hail a ride using the company’s app.

Some drivers say Uber users have mistaken them more than once for their ride.

Based on Tweets, Prius and SUV drivers appear to be the primary victims of the confusion.

Some say the mistaken identity is a particular issue when operating late at night when people have been drinking. The company says real drivers undergo a background check, which includes a criminal records screening.
Sorry for the poor paste. The article is not formatted well for copying and pasting. There are also some tweets.

This would be frustrating and it could be potentially dangerous if you get into the wrong car.

BE MORE AWARE.

The obvious reference from this, of course, is that some people simply have too much BAC in them to see and properly recognize the proper car and get into it. That, of course, at night and/or in bad weather or poorly-lit areas, can be difficult enough even if one is sober.

What are these retards doing driving around with their doors unlocked? Nobody can mistakenly climb into your car if the handle doesn't work.

With most cars these days typically doing it for you, this takes a special class of stupid.

Lyft makes you put this pink mustache on the car so you can ID the car easier

I'm going to come out and admit I opened the back door of a black Tahoe once thinking it was the Uber I ordered. Turned out the Tahoe I was supposed to get into was 2 cars back...

Good point. I had forgotten about that.

The "R" word, though, is generally not used any more in today's society. The applicable term is mental disability.

Nah, the appropriate terms are idiot, cretin, dolt, imbecile, and moron.

I stand by retarded.

Because the words I would rather use are definitely not acceptable in public discourse.

I actually disabled the auto-lock feature in my Fusion. That's because I'm in the habit of getting out and checking things, often with the car running(in safe areas). I'd hate to accidentally lock myself out of the car.

Do you not have the keyless entry pad on your model fusion?

I will laugh the day someone hops in the back of my GS and thinks I'm an Uber drive. Hey, wait a minute, the doors lock automatically so that will never happen.

Apparently the sarcasm of my post flew right over your head. Imbecile, moron, dolt, cretin, those were all terms used by early psychologists to label people with various mental and developmental disabilities/ issues. The preferred term retarded came around in the middle 20th century to take the stigma out of those antiquated medical terms, then retarded became non-pc by the 80's/90's.

Yes, in the early 20th century, at mental hospitals, they would label people of less than average IQ a moron or imbecile.

Now what the heck was this thread about????
