I doubt Hyundai will build Prius fighter... they might do what Toyota does in Europe and offer hybrid powertrain in many of their vehicles, like i30 and Elantra. That makes sense.

Hopefully it is good... competition is only way for technology to improve.

p.s. Accord hybrid was just introduced, Fusion is up by 2% and Sonata is up 17%.
Did I ever say Hyundai can do no wrong? I never claimed that the Sonata and Optima were successes. I just mentioned I thought I hope they had a lot of lessons learned (and there was a lot of shortcomings they could learn from) from those while staying out of direct "competition' with Prius/Prius family.

They will be bringing out a dedicated hybrid model as indicated by the article.

I'm not saying you have to follow my logic. My point is that after being so blatantly and publicly called out, Hyundai would be crazy to repeat that behavior. I don't expect Ford to make that mistake again either. It's OK, you can call me crazy.

Also, I haven't seen what models are dragging the reliability down/what the problems have been. These are questions I asked before purchasing my first British car.

This does not seem like a good idea.

Not all that uncommon in hybrid vehicles to have the exposed orange sleeving on the hybrid cables, and run underneath the car. I had a Honda CR-Z, and it was the same situation. Basically better to show it then cut into it and hurt yourself.

Now if someones going to slam one of these, might be an issue.
