With this mini Caddy, I think my primary concern would be space efficiency. If it's interior AND exterior size ends up being the same as my old E46 BMW, we'll be in good shape.

I'm not sure what YOU don't understand, but one of the primary reasons that the Escalade sells better than the LX is because it is significantly less expensive and also comes in two different models (do they still make the truck?).
Also, you brought up the argument about things selling in higher volumes indicating that they are more prestigious - not me. By your flawed logic, Wal-Mart is a more prestigious place to shop than Bloomingdales.
