In reality, RC350 is 3748lbs. IS350 is 3600lbs. Difference is not that big.
this thread is about rcf right? let's not dilute the weight with the rc350.

with what you say, the m5 is now more comfortable and softer than before, so it's a good thing now?

you are just pointing out what i have said. and like i said i fully understand the cost on the platform given the car probably won't sell in huge volume. but it is what it is when lexus was determined to have a different platform for their coupes, vs the same (or very similar) chassis for mb and bmw

Even the new Mustang is over 3800#. This is the nature of V8 cars now. This 3600# number for the new V8 is based on euro spec. Remember when euro specs said the new M3 would be 3300#. Then it really weighed almost 3700#. The new V8 AMG isnt going to be ~3600# thats lighter than an IS350
I will be pessimistic about US spec C63 coupe and add 200lb to the C63 EU-spec sedan. It's still close to 250lb lighter while being more powerful.
I've been stating all along being new C-class chassis, not the old one.

You're confusing me. You're talking about 3800lb Mustang V8, and you throw in 3600lb weight of EU-spec C63 AMG.
UK Spec M3 is 3603lb, so I don't know where you get 3300lb figure,

Uh, RC350 and RC-F share same platform, I am comparing RC350 and IS350 weight to see what would be the weight if it was IS based like 4 is 3 series based.

What exactly am I dilluting?

I was actually thinking and was going to write almost the same exact thing, even the hello kitty part. I just don't understand the love with such small weak effeminate cars in Japan and why those types of cars are so prominently showcased at their auto shows.

I admit, I've never driven the car, but having driven many cars since I was 12-13, from small roadster to full-size truck with some high performance cars in between, I don't think weight has anything to do with spec racing and it's always a big plus from performance stand point, which is where those cars stand. In fact, Lexus is the one should be called spec racer making more powerful engine, but disappointing with clumsy chassis.

You can accept RC-F as it is, but I personally think their best isn't good enough. They can try again with IS-F. If rumor about V6 TT IS-F is correct, I hope it finds in way into the new Supra with BMW CF reinforced chassis.
That speaks to your credibility in criticising the RC-F.

Does the RCF sound like the ISF?

If you use words like feel and soul to describe it, you also have no credibility in criticizing my statement because physics rules and we all know it.

Edit: You can try to explain me how you think a heavier car can feel the same as a lighter car when you push it to a certain point. Engine position? Weight distribution? Suspension set up? linear power? .... weight? Oh wait.
If you want buy this car to just to drive on the road to get from A to B, I definitely can see where you're coming from. And we should not go any further than this.

RC-based convertible concept, soft top I believe, no longer hard top as the previous IS Convertible.

Folding hard top was nice on ISC and SC, but man... there are some serious design limitations when you're trying to accommodate an entire roof and support system. This will also mean less weight, which will be awesome.

I'm surprised. A convertible concept instead of the new RX prototype.

It appears to be a convertible RC...Lexus is expanding the RC line.

RC 300h
RC 350/350 awd
RC F

Soon to come:

RC 200t
RC 350C (convertible)

Absolutely no need to make a 4 door RC because Lexus already has the IS...now we just need an IS F to compete with the M3...
