not feeling this side profile view - white tends to accentuate 'bulkiness' though...
compare to m4
and mustang gt

You get used to the bulkiness, interesting the hood is actually quite straight on the RC-F. That's not the impression you get from the 3/4 views.

I don't think many people are cross shopping Chevy SS with the 550i or E550 just because they are V8 RWD sedans. I don't think many people are cross shopping Sorentos with X5s and GLs because they are all available with AWD and have three rows of seats.
The person shopping for an M4 or RC F has way more money to spend and wants an entirely different experience vs. the person buying a Mustang.
The comparisons just don't make any sense.

i know someone who just went from an X5 to a Prius and now to a Panamera. i don't know if he leased or bought any of those, but he could buy them all at once without missing the money.

New Lexus RC-F Rendered Topless
Since the Lexus RC (and RC-F) is a direct rival to the BMW 4-Series (and M4 respectively), a drop-top variant would definitely be in order, so as to properly take the fight to the Germans on all fronts.
The transformation of the RC-F into a convertible would probably look a lot like what X-Tomi created in the rendering posted below.
It’s a simple chop job, but it seems that once the roof is off, the wider wheelarches of the F really stand out. It looks good and for those exclusively looking for infinite headroom, it’d be the only one worth looking at – you’d also hear the vocal V8’s baritone bellows better.
There's a strong chance that Lexus will launch this model in due time; after all, their convertibles have been known to sell really well.

The m3 looks like a regular 4 series ( 3 series coupe?) and it's based on the same platform with the same engine.
The RC-F is made from the ground up. It's most likely another engineering monstrosity grade vehicle from Toyota/Lexus

I question if Lexus really developed the RCF from the "ground up." It seems to be a Frankenstein of platforms from the GS, IS, and ISC.
