Yeah, the title is a little misleading.

I would be incredibly uncooperative if the EPA tried to seize my dad's 67 Firebird 400.

I wouldn't be too concerned about them grabbing an old F-Body Camaro or Firebird. All of them from that vintage were originally built in the U.S. (or to American specs), so there's no question of their compliance. In fact, our first large-scale motor vehicle safety law (passed in 1966), which mandated several new design changes and the first primitive smog-control pumps, didn't go into effect until the 1968 model year...after your dad's car was built.
