0 to 60 in 5.6 seconds in the STi? Somebody does not know how to launch properly.

that was a very bad launch. STI launch 0-60 in 4..6-5.0 seconds all day long

I also got the impression that the STi driver was catching up on some lost sleep.

i thought the new sti doesnt get to 60mph without being in 3rd gear. 0-60 time should suck.

This will probably be the 1st of several comparos with the S3. It will be interesting to see how they all shake out.

They don't list the ambient test-conditions. High altitude, high temperature, high humidity, and a uphill road surface can all work against power and acceleration. Turbos, of course, because of their air/fuel compression, maintain altitude/density, but only up to a certain point.

There are variables yes, but you know these cars are faster

I know Audi is terrific. Will always see them in my mind's eye on the low bed train trucks on their way out of Ingolstadt in heavy snow. All with bibs covering the roof and windows. What the use of the bibs is, I don't know. But I'll prefer the Sti any day all day long, it is just much more exciting.

If the S3 a anything like the Golf R then yes it's quick but it doesn't have the crazy rush of power that shoves you right into your seat like how the STI does

Here the S3 costs an exta $30,000 over the STI
