Next Lexus LS (2018 model)

It's likely a combination of bodies. The trim and windows of the current car, portions of the new car. Very typical.

I was hoping to see something like the fuel cell concept sedan but this thing is more an engineering mule. I've seen a few of the next gen Panamera test cars on the road, they don't have the crazy swirl camo but most seams are taped over and the rear lights are painted on. To me, that's the car the new LS has to beat, instead of always being a runner-up to the S Class.

I find it very hard to believe that Lexus will not update the powertrains. I am sure there will be a V6 turbo and perhaps a V8 turbo. A V12 is very unlikely but would be something extra special. I hope they don't use the 5.0 that has been around forever.

i doubt the body reflects what the car will look like - they may be just testing drive train with a temporary body added somehow.

LOL..."looks boring".....this is a test mule in the current body covered in camouflage...lets hold the comments on the styling.

I agree with part of what you say, but on the other hand, if the auto companies weren't so insistent about disguising test-vehicles with all that (IMO unnecessary) bras, body-coverings, camouflage, etc...... there wouldn't be so much NEED for spy-shots and endless speculation on the forums. I personally think all this disguising is ridiculous. The auto companies should just put the proper body on the vehicle, test it, and that's it.....and stop acting like five-year-olds paying Hide-and-Go-Seek in Kindergarten.

On top of that, why give your competition advance knowledge of what you're developing?
