This is some poor thinking. And here is why:

Toyota/Lexus products that are new, like my 14 Corolla are now being built with future upgrades in mind. The new Toyota and Lexus vehicles are software upgradable, you can add almost anything to the software programing.

I wouldn't worry about the future infortainment.

Attractive exterior, attractive interior, great drive, nav to get me where I want to go, Bluetooth to let me talk without holding the phone, iPod interface to let me play my tunes, blind-spot monitoring and back-up camera. That works for me now and will work for me 5 years from now.
