I believe Lexus scrapped the CX name due to the Peugeot CX and current Mazda CX-5 at the time when they trademarked the NX name.

Eh forget this, I'd rather they focus on depth (options, features, powertrains), and moving upmarket. Lexus doesn't need some tiny raised CT to increase sales, look where they are in 4 short years nearly back on top with a smaller number of models than the German competition

Doesn't Mazda own the CX name?

CX would be a great name but since Peugeot and Mazda are using that moniker Lexus will have to come up with something else.

VX would be good, but I always reserved it for a Venza version on the Lexus side.

Maybe HX could be a possible candidate similar to the HS sedan. I would also assume this smaller CUV would be a hybrid...HX 200h...

Imagine Lexus SUV lineup:

HX
NX
RX
TX
GX
LX

Starting to remind me of the Toyota side with all it's SUV's:

RAV4
Highlander
FJ Cruiser
4Runner
Landcruiser
Sequoia

Not in the US... but in Europe, China and Japan, they do need this because as the article says, in Europe, 60% of luxury brand sales are in areas where Lexus has few models.

So we will certainly see not only this but also next get CTh sedan as well. They are all coming on new platform so I bet it was engineered to have a Lexus model.

Quite possibly they might offer a model smaller than CT.

This is all worldwide... They might not offer them in the US, then everyone will complain about why not offering them in US :-)

That should be Yaris based... so thats smaller... CT crossover should be next gen CT in size, which is still a size smaller than NX.

Correct, I think everyone knows the CT at 170.1 inch is larger than the Prius C at 157.3 inch. However, I could not find any numbers on the Aqua Cross Concept, so I assume its about the same length as the regular Prius C.

I am assuming it is Yaris platform based with maybe slightly bigger overhangs... and CT crossover will be the same.

So lets see the lengths:

Audi Q5: 4,639 mm
Lexus NX: 4,630.4 mm

Audi Q3: 4,385 mm
Lexus CTh: 4,320 mm

Audi Q1: 3,950 mm (reported by TopGear)
Yaris:3,885 mm

They will all be based on same platform in the future, new TNGA will span most of the models, just like new Audi/VW platform does as well.

Not that this matters too much but the overall length of the CT is 171.2 In and the wheelbase is 102.4 In.

That must be for the 2014 face lift model with the spindle grille.

LENGTH / 171.2 IN
WHEELBASE / 102.4 IN
