2015 Challenger really grew on me after they went that route with the front grille and tail lights. Debating on getting a 2016 SRT next year or wait for the 2017 which I heard somewhere will be a fully updated change for the challenger.

Default This Photo Likely Reveals 2016 Chevrolet Camaro's Side Body

Part by part, we're getting to know Chevy's next-gen 2016 Camaro, as after what many believe to be the headlamps of the production car, we have a picture of the car's side.

Someone with more knowledge of the manufacturing process and respective tools than me might want to chip in, but this image appears to depict one of the dies upon which the single, rear half section of the side body panel is stamped on before it moves on the next die.

The reason why we think it shows the next Camaro is the lack of the three cosmetic gills ahead of the rear fender of the current car, along with the much larger distance between the rear quarter window and the fender crease as well as the more tapered roofline, as seen on recent prototypes.

Take a look for yourself below and tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Default 2016 Chevy Camaro Makes Cameo Appearance in 2015 Z/28's Clip

The 5th-gen Camaro is on the verge of breaking the 500,000 sales mark this month and to celebrate, Chevy released a video with the Z/28 in which a prototype of the next Camaro drops by towards the end.

It breaks cover through a wall of tire smoke from the 2015 Camaro Z/28 with Chevy asking viewers, "What Will Six Do?".

This will be the final year for the Camaro 5, with the next generation of Chevy's muscle car scheduled to enter production in the second half of 2015 as a 2016 model.

It will ride on GM's newer and lighter Alpha platform, shared with the Cadillac CTS and ATS sedans, and is expected to continue with a similar mix of V6 and V8 engine choices to the current car, though, it's widely believed that a new turbocharged four-cylinder unit will join the range to rival Ford's EcoBoost Mustang 6.

A soft-top convertible version is also under development, and will be introduced within the next year.

Default All-New 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Gets Retro Badge, Will Be Unveiled on May 16

In exactly two months from now, Chevrolet will unveil the all-new 2016 Camaro in Detroit. The sixth-generation Camaro will show its true colors for the first time on May 16 on Belle Isle, the 982-acre island park that is home to the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix.

“This will be an event Camaro fans will not want to miss. This is only the sixth time we have introduced an all-new Camaro. We wanted to share the moment with the customers and fans who have helped make Camaro both America’s favorite performance car for the past five years, and a cultural icon since 1967,” said Todd Christensen, Camaro marketing manager.

Chevrolet expects approximately 1,000 people to attend the Camaro reveal event, which will also include a “Camaro Museum” display of the most significant vehicles from the brand’s history, hot-lap rides in the 2015 Camaro Z/28 around the Belle Isle Grand Prix course, meet-and-greet opportunities with Camaro designers and engineers, as well as Camaro-only parking for owners.

Admission at the event is free, however fans must register at www.thecamarosix.com because space is limited. Fans who agree to bring their Camaros to Belle Isle will get priority access.

Chevrolet’s announcement was accompanied by a photo of the Camaro’s new logo, which is an interpretation of the three-stripe badge that first appeared on the model in the 1970s. The new emblem features the same red, white, and blue stripes but its shape has been stretched out horizontally. The new badge also features the word “Camaro” in big block letters above the stripes.

Default GM Says 2016 Chevy Camaro Is A "Truly New Car" From Top To Bottom [w/Video]

Often, new cars aren't really that new once you start nitpicking the details, but GM claims that the Gen 6 Camaro "will be a truly all-new car, from the grille's bowtie to the rear spoiler".

In fact, the General said today that, the only two parts carried over from the current, fifth-generation Camaro, are the bowtie emblem on the taillight panel and the SS badge for the V8 model.

Of course, we know that the term "new" doesn't necessarily mean that Chevy reinvented the automobile with the 2016 Camaro nor does it imply that everything was made from scratch, as it can also be applied to redesigned components.

With that out of the way, let's see what GM told us today about the upcoming 2016 Camaro Gen 6. Perhaps the single most important change for the bowtie brand's muscle car is the switch to GM's Alpha rear-drive architecture shared with the new Cadillac ATS and CTS models, and which will help shed some weight.

GM says it didn't simply take the Alpha platform from Cadillac, but made many changes including a longer front structure with wider tracks developed specifically for the Camaro, both for aesthetic (to create the dash-to-axle ratio necessary for car’s profile) and handling reasons.

“Alpha provided a strong foundation, but more than 70 percent of the components are unique to the Gen 6 Camaro, including exterior and interior dimensions, an all-new interior, front and rear suspension, and powertrain components,” he said. “The minute you see – and hear – the Gen 6, you know it’s a Camaro, from the stance to the driving experience to the sound of the Small Block V-8.”

Speaking of the SS model's V8, GM said that 20 percent of the 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine has been "tailored to fit the Camaro’s packaging, including new, tubular 'tri-Y'-style exhaust manifolds". You can hear how it sounds in the following official video.

The 6th generation Camaro will be revealed on May 16 this year.

I like the front. Rear is a little ho-hum. I'm hearing the magnetic ride control will be available. If the Camaro gets adaptive suspension it'll have a nice one up one Mustang and Challenger

At least the rear looks better than the current one. I hate what they did with that refresh.

GM will offer Magnetic Ride Control suspension on SS because it's a $1500 option. Still sucks that outward visibility is just as bad.

Still guess I never fathomed adaptive suspension on a pony car
