Same, I went with an x5 over another ml because the interior is just so pleasant.

This is not correct. On average, a higher percentage of lux vehicles are leased, as opposed to purchased; but most are still purchased. Jaguar is the most leased vehicle, at 38% (based on Consumer Reports annual survey from 2011-15).

There's such little advantage in the current LSh vs LS, we'll have to wait until the next generation 5LS, LC, 5GS and hybrid technology for better performance and efficiency worthy of a premium price tag.
Lexus knows sometimes you have to sell at a loss for the greater good of the company ala LFA

i can believe there's a $5K delta at least in cost for hybrid components and with covering warranty, training, documentation, etc., it ain't cheap. there's never really been a compelling reason to buy a lexus hybrid, and i'm not sure higher volume would do much for lexus costs so there isn't much point in losing money on them now.

Customers lease Jags usually because of the expected high depreciation, low demand, and the hassles of trying to re-sell them. That way, they can simply bring them back after two or three years and turn in the keys....and it's the dealer's problem after that. The average Jag customer is also likely to have a nice garage or other means of keeping the car indoors at night, out of the weather and vandalism, helping with the wear-and-tear clause in the lease-contract.

how about this instead from ny times:
Over all, according to Kelley Blue Book, nonluxury brands were leased 21.2 percent of the time last year, up from 19.7 percent in 2013 and 16.3 percent in 2012.The picture is more mixed when it comes to luxury cars, which have traditionally been leased more than they have been purchased. Their overall leasing rate ticked up slightly last but remained about the same at roughly half. That is mostly because companies whose leasing rates rose, including Audi, Cadillac, Lexus and Infiniti, were offset by those whose rates fell, including Acura, Mercedes-Benz, Land Rover and BMW.

i thought the beauty of LHD and TSD was that it was not complicated at all and is actually a very reliable because it is so simple. Anyway, the GSh is unable to gain a foothold because in general, the GS is not able to break through the German hold on the executive saloon class. The GSh further fails because it is so darn expensive, and I dont think it comes from the components, but the fact that Lexus needs to make it worthwhile for them to produce it.
