I have no problem with Lexus costing a little more than it's other Asian competitions. It's a better car, and it should cost a little more.

Pretty obvious since the NX is the size of the original RX
Exactly..its 60k loaded now..most seem to be around 52k with a couple of option packages....

Are we really complaining about a NAV system? What about a competitive hybrid powertrain? :roll eyes:

Lexus NAV isn't the best but their hybrid power train is. I think that is what is more impressive.

The RX gaining 3 rows will be a big problem for the Enclave, MDX, JX.....it will directly impact their sales.

several issues combined... (fyi, i was playing with a brand new rx navi last week)
- i found the far off recessed screen in a sea of black plastic to be very plain and far away
- yes, the graphics seem very weak, especially no 3d display (or maybe there's a setting i missed)
- i just find the controller too clumsy like using a pc mouse with windows in the 1980s yeah, i realize i'd probably get more used to it, and yeah the new touchpad on is/nx is likely better.

Of course one's smartphone or Garmin unit is always going to be better than OEM navi.
there's no reason this should be 'of course'. i haven't seen the tesla nav i person on the monster screen, but i bet it's pretty awesome compared to a garmin.

There's no finger prints, and somewhat reduced sunglare is nice about the recessed dash. Well that and it's in the line of sight. I would like to see it padded with a double stitch like the GS/LS instead of a sea of (nice'ish) plastic.

Yeah only the IS, CT and GX have the 3D graphics so you didn't miss any setting.

Excited for the new RTI

What I meant was a $2000 OEM system is no better than a $200 Garmin one. Some exceptions may be the the automakers that use Google Maps.

I'd take the 3 row bit with a grain of salt. Last official plans I saw, a 3 row crossover for Lexus wasn't even approved to start development yet. So I don't think it would be ready by mid next year.

LOL, thanks for the funny picture. But yeah, if Lexus has an RX with 3rd row and only 10k more than High-Lander. That would be awesome. I don't like the second row in the Enclave.

I know that by next year, I will have to upgrade my current RX onto a 3rd row one. Sigh ****

We at least know that Lexus has been running the likes of these 2016 mules for almost 1 year now, so one has wonder when prototypes hit the streets to assess the change in size from 3RX to 4RX. Somewhere in a Toyota patent filing are photos of the 2016 RX and finding it before it gets re-locked by TMC lawyers would be excellent luck.

Actually, sales won't be impacted as long as the next generation Enclave, MDX, and JX offers 4th row seating

What does the Harrier in the magazine article have to do with the test mules shown? They are not of relevance to why I posted that one bit. Anyone asinine enough to believe that the rehashed Harrier previews the next RX, can stew in their own ignorance (as many auto blogs have lazily done).

My point was to show, that they have been actively testing the next RX and a 2.0T power train for it. Outside of this, much of everyone haven't seen anything pointing past the current generation AL10/GGL10/etc RX.
